Sony FS5 Overview and Setup

Awesome video. Where can, I find more information on compatible microphones with the Sony fs5 mkii?

Mark II basically just comes with more file formats unlocked, any need for a shogun type device for it, or can it handle most video files internally. I’m sure there are reasons to still have an external recorder.

how do you connect your rode wireless into your XLR input. I saw an adaptator from Jack 3?5mm to XLR. Do you have the reference ?

I think it's the powerzoom 18-200MM F3.5-6.3 I also have. Do you have footage online with this setup? I still have that lens from my older nex-ea50 (already sold) and want to step up to 4K. No idea how it looks liked in 4K.

It comes with that lens which isn’t the greatest lens. I believe they may have updated it but the focus breathes and can go out of focus when you zoom in etc.

Great setup, do you lose any image in the viewfinder when recording 4K to the external recorder?

Unfortunately, Yes, you do if you are recording through HDMI. Although, if you're recording RAW through SDI, you will still have an image on the viewfinder.

and the atomos inferno you have uses SDI? What about the image through the eyepiece?@@MotionFactory

@@tianhxu Yes the Inferno uses SDI, And when shooting in RAW, you still get the image through the eyepiece/viewfinder.

Hi Dominik, It really depends on how much I'm recording and what Batteries I use. It varies quite a lot.

This isn't possible, it can only output 4K in 2 places at a time: 1 - SDI/HDMI 2 - LCD/Viewfinder 3 - SD Cards Since you cannot stop the recording to SD Cards, you have to choose between SDI/HDMI and the LCD. The only way to show the image to both is by shooting in SDI-RAW and it will record in HD to the camera. Otherwise you could get another monitor to piggy back off the shogun/recorder if you want it to be seen in 2 places.

I read mixed reviews on B&H about the Lanparte Hand Grip extension. Have you had any issues with it?

We haven't had any issues at all really. The only thing is that it can sometimes be a bit hard to get the FS5 grip off, but that isn't very often at all.
