I didn’t go super in depth about every subject but rather covered the more obvious points. @@TheAugusts the weather has been complete crap in Michigan. I finally was able to take my FX 30 out Wednesday for a couple hours and capture a little bit of footage and put it together. Definitely loving it. It was my first time out with it I was a little nervous because I was worried the footage would be shaky after filming with drones for so long so I used s&q mode 😂💀 I posted it on my KZbin earlier but your definitely a inspiration to me so thank you for that!

Full frame any day. Much better low light performance and dynamic range. You get what you pay for.

@@TheAugusts Interestingly when lab tested the dynamic range of all 3 of these is basically the same- around 14.5 stops - indistinguishable. No question the low light is better on full frame - but I have had the FX 30 up to ISO 6400 and it stays very clean - just a bit of Resolve NR in post and I doubt you could tell the difference. Fortunately I never need to go to 12,800 in my shooting scenarios!

I think the main difference is low light. If Sony put a 10MP sensor in the FX30, they would never sell another FX3 or A7SIII again. Every other issue you can work with ie crop factor. I would love to see an FX30 with a 12 MP sensor like what Panasonic did with the GH5S.

Even with a 10MP sensor, the crop sensor of the FX30 wouldn’t be able to deliver the low light performance and dynamic range of the FX3/FX6 full frame sensor, which makes all the difference for professional work. The FX30 is cheaper for a reason.

@@FlipDeRiviera correct would not give the same low light as FX3 however...it would boost it. Kind of like what Panasonic did with the GH5S. In terms of dynamic range..I have seen people who own both models and say it is negligible. It is the low light that makes the biggest difference.

I;m curious on why 3:28 the FX6 looks very magenta compared to the other cameras ? on the slowmotion tests, looks very magenta too.

Critique my dream setup for video? FX30 w/ 18-105 E PZ f/4 OSS as handheld workhorse for social media content and sigma 16mm f1.4 locked off for interview setup In either case rode wireless go ii w/lavs and sony ecm-vg1 as camera mounted shotgun. Does this enables me to build a reel and stock footage library? Maybe start to dabble in client work before I upgrade further?

That’d be a good comparison. For filmmaking the S5II is probably a better choice but for vlogging the FX30

Guys, as much as this man put in a lot of work to make this video, he misses a lot of vital points. It's the reason why you shouldn't watch someone who goes down a list of points he wrote down versus taking us in depth. Example: "FX3 and FX30 having breathing compensation"... BUT forget to mention that it only works with Sony native lenses. Example: "the FX3 and FX6 have Dual Base ISO of 800 and 12800(?)" Forgets to mention its only in SLOG 3. Do not assume your audience knows exactly what your talking about as many people come from different points in their videography career. You may have first time shooters, you may have only-canon filmmakers, you got to really provide that indepth comparison with the dedication to detail. When you just make bullet points and read it back to us, this doesn't come off as a comparison but more of a video essay you do when your in class trying to get that easy A.
