You know what I realized today, i was thinking about the FTC trial and initially I thought XB had rolled over for the sake of the merger but really it was a master class on XB part. PS has to buy these ports they get from XB an there’s only two things that can occur 1. The games sell well on PS, XB gets the lions share of revenue and profits 2. (Aside from cod) the games don’t sell well on PS and PS just paid XB to have a game flop on their platform like throwing money into a burn pit and regardless XB still gets paid in full. Microsoft set the game up for a win win.

I'm glad this is happening unfortunately. I was a Killzone fan and it failed multiple times because PS fans wouldn't support the franchise. They rather play COD, BF or any other 3rd party MP games. Sony's making more money because they keep increasing the price of PS+ even though PSN's MAU hasn't gone up. All signs point to PSN as a bubble that's about to burst since the PS5 sales, even though it sells better than Xbox which isn't even an accomplishment at this point, has gone down YOY by 22%, and we all know that PC gamers aren't going to pay for PS+. It doesn't matter if Sony is making more money TODAY if they don't have a plan to increase PS5 sales YOY as that is the only way for them to increase the quantity of PS+ subscribers. There's a limit to how much people will pay for a service, and Sony can only go down the route of finding ways of increasing PS+ price for so long. Shuhei Yoshida, a guy who actually knows what's going on in the company, has outright said that games are being ported to PC because game's aren't selling well enough on the console. There are many cancelled live service games that have set back the dev schedules and resources for several of its studios. Games are only selling better by virtue of being on more platforms, and all that'll only embolden Sony to stray away from exclusivity practices. Because that is their only option of increasing game sales if they don't force their studios to create games on smaller budgets. They don't have to pay for advertising? Square-Enix has gone on public to denounce Sony's exclusivity practices which would only serve to keep over publishing houses from taking an exclusivity check from Sony. By doing nothing, Sony has is cucked out of extending exclusivity deals to several big studios. Pinning the blame on Sony's fanbase is totally logical because these guys are not holding Sony's balls to the fire. They keep exonerating Playstation for all its missteps. And while twitter isn't the real world a lot of these figureheads from Sony, such as Niel Druckmann, practically live on twitter where these fanboys also happen to be the most vocal.

To both of you: you do realize they spend millions to get those 4-5 games you saw today to go to gamepass...they are not profiting at all, all revenue. PlayStation has Ghost of Yōtei and Death Stranding 2 coming out this year however 2026 and 2027 is unknown. Due to the cancellation of all the live service games from Playstation, I suspect that there won’t be any new games coming from Playstation Studios until the PS6. With the PS6, the console will likely launch with Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet and Marvel’s Wolverine.

Also, I believe Sony will shutdown the PS4 and PS5 digital stores 12 months later after the launch of the PS6 in order to push PS6 console sales. The PS6 will have PS3 backwards compatibility with a host of PS3 games available to play for PS Plus Premium/Deluxe subscribers, or you can purchase them separately. The PS6 will have PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS4 and PS5 backwards compatibility day 1.

Pc gamers dont want to see intel,nivida, or amd go out of business because we know the market needs competition to stay some what healthy, but console gamers for some reason think they are apart of there favorite console brand, the truth is we gamers are consumers, are loyalty should only exist to a degree, playstation has the best single player story games this is facts, but xbox has live service and gamepass which can turn to the next netflix, xbox also has the best games coming out with dates, and Xbox has taken the more pro gamer approach because there bringing games to everybody cross all platforms, xbox isn't the savior but atleast they have rebuild themselves to bring a service nobody else can do, because when they where tired of losing they had to listen to the consumer which is good for gamers, now its playstation turn to lose and listen so we can get a better playstation

We are already suffering with no competition in the GPU market with no competition from AMD. If anyone really thinks a GPU is worth upwards of 2000.00 or even a 1000.00 you would be lying. Could you imagine how nice it would be to pay 900.00 for a 5090. For years in the CPU market there was no competition from AMD and Intel raped us. Idk why these guys act like SALES is the only measurement of success for these games lol… like, if a game releases day one on gamepass, then that game generates money lol its that simple. It brings in more subs, the publishers get paid good enough to continue putting their games on the service. And then theres in-game content. We also know 2026 is also going to be ridiculous. In fact the next couple years for Xbox is going to be ridiculous. All Xbox needs to do is focus on delivering the content and making sure it’s all top quality.
