Great show Derek and Larry as always. Sony simplified show show how properly hook up Sony products with each other. Examples soundbar with wireless sub and rears. Receivers with TV. Ps5 with receiver ect. I am still having issues calibrating AT H3000 w SA RS5s and SW3 in the field after working with receiver in the living room. Also issues with earc with projector.

Thanks for all the episodes and info. Yesterday I ordered my 77” a95L for my living room. Question: will I have a problem connecting my Yamaha rx-v681 receiver to the tv?? I already have nice surround n center speakers connected to the receiver n i don’t plan/want to use the tv for sound. -shout out to FOMO cause I’ve learned a lot from watching his channel for sure 👍

Morning @Hippydaze35! Short answer is that you will not have any problems connecting and utilizing your current AVR with the 77" A95L (congrats on that beauty by the way)! It is important to mention that your current AVR supports ARC (not eARC) which means the amount of data your AVR can accept from the TV is capped via the HDMI port. eARC was designed to allow support for audio codecs like Dolby ATMOS and/or dts:X. ARC will receive Dolby TrueHD. With that said, I believe that manufacturer offered a hardware upgrade to that model which would have enabled it to support an eARC connection. The TV can deliver it but your AVR model and feature support will dictate if it can accept it. Check with them and see if you can get the hardware update if you have not already. I hope this helps. Thanks for the question! Larry

@@LARRYfromSONY that’s awesome Larry I appreciate the info and thanks for quick response. Think I’ll start looking into updated/new receiver. Actually there’s my idea for a future episode:) a discussion on Sony’s line of AV receivers. Big thnx!

Re: two SW5s + Quad... Is there anything stopping someone using an AN1000 and piping two SW5s, the Quad and (presumably) a BRAVIA with ACS together and achieving the goal that way?
@DerekFromSonyКүн бұрын
The Theater Quad only supports one subwoofer at a time. Also, the Quad is a standalone audio system as is the AN1000. You could run two SW5's off the AN1000, but you would need separate speakers like our CS line.

Has anyone noticed their Bravia 9 (75inch) lock up while streaming? Do people recommend buying the extended 5 year warrantee for a Bravia 9 at their store of purchase?
@DerekFromSonyКүн бұрын
I'll be interested to see if others chime in here, but I've not heard of it as an issue. If you are noticing it happening frequently, try a soft reset. Hold the power button down until Restart shows on screen, and let it restart. If it continues, you may want to reach out to Sony Support to see what other options they can share. As far as warranties, you'll want to get the ins and outs of the offer to determine if it's best for you. I would recommend registering the product through Sony, for sure. You'll have an option to look at some of Sony's options of extending, when registered.

@DerekFromSony it only happened one time. Thank you for the information.

Is there a way to lower the subwoofer volume/intensity on the Bravia 9? Someone made a forum post mentioning the intense bass is driving him crazy and he couldn't find a way to lower it. I was planning to buy a B9, but I'm in a townhome environment with thin walls, so on-board subwoofer control is important to me. Thanks!

There is a 7 band EQ in the audio settings, hopefully that's what you're looking for! For an experience that's more controlled and should not bother the neighbors, consider the Theater U!

"I would like to know the same about the first edition HT-A9. #1 Because I can set it up with the couch against the wall, #2 or in an open area where the rear speakers are 3-4 feet behind, but I would still like to know the correct placement. I would love to know his opinion. I prefer it in my space #1." 3-4 feet behind should rears face fronts or angle? how much angle. and if i do couch wall speakers just forward? Ty ,guys for all u do.. ttyl Remember im not talking about quads, i have first Ht-A9 lol
@LARRYfromSONY7 күн бұрын
What's up @DennisnCA59! The great thing about the cylindrical design of the (Gen 1) HT-A9 was that the speaker units delivered a wide sound distribution field so Option #1 would work beautifully. If I can make a small additional recommendation...I would position those rear speakers equal distance from your seated position for the best experience. If you decided on Option 2, the same answers would apply. Speakers facing forward, equal distance apart based on your position and no need to angle. Placing the speakers 3-4 ft behind you would give you a more spatial audio experience but it will in both scenarios. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks for reaching out! Larry

Hi guys. Not sure if you can answer in your next after hours. Just saw the results from the HDTVTest schootout from vincent. Seems the LG G4 took over the crown from the a95L. For sure the a95L is older. But the price should reflect this aswel. However here in europe the g4 77inch is 2000 euro cheaper than the A95L and according the shootout also better. Is it not time for Sony to be more competive ? Every quater i see the tv units drop from the finiancials from sony. I fear 1 day they will annouce they will stop producing tv's. What's your take and how will they cintinue to compete?
@DerekFromSonyКүн бұрын
I know I shared in an email, but being that we are US based, we can't speak to the pricing or plans for Europe. Personally, I do believe Sony is competitive. Sure, there might be some bias here, but Voice Zoom 3, Prime Calibrated Mode, our new backlight driver tech in the BRAVIA 9...
