After two years of listening to the Z’s - have your opinion on these headphones change in anyway?

My Opinion only got better, the whole time I had been using them on THX, Schitt Jotunheim, A90, Gustard, Singxer etc. Finally I decided to buy something of an "End-Game" headphone amplifier and my opinion of the Z1R got even better. The Z1R definitely likes more power, the Flux VOLOT provides it. Just days before the Ukraine Invasion, I placed my order and after a week it finally shipped out and literally the next day Ukraine was invaded. I could not be happier with this purchase as first of all, I think I have received the very last Flux Volot with Pre-Amp to be made and this thing is an absolute beast, capable of providing more than enough juice for any headphone out there. The Z1R definitely needs more power to get more out of them.

You mentioned K712... what do you like or not like about them versus these Z1R?

The k712 are a more reference sounding headphone with a wide sound stage. Despite that, they sound a tad too bright for my ears. The Z1R is more friendly with a wide range of music genres while providing a laid back sound and almost the same level of comfort as the k712. The k712 being open back headphones do not have same bass response the Z1Rs have. It's present but nothing to brag about. It's really not a fair comparison since the Z1RS are a greater investment.

These are not new 🤔 I see them over 2, 3 years on Amazon
