actually you can use almost any aftermarket cable on these, focal cables, meze cables with a mic inline, a lot of generic, it's just a 3.5mm L and R if you wanna cheap out there's 20 bucks generic china of these on amazon

sadly, i have never tried the ZIR

different is the detail and layer of the sound stage. mid range is little bit more present on z1r.
