Sony MHC-NX1 Fixing No Eject CD Drive

I cannot thank you enough for your video. Nobody wanted to know when I asked if they would repair it for me. Most told me to just throw it out (over 20 years old) and buy a new one! I liked the sound quality from this one though. So using your video as my guide, two little bags of new rubber bands, a few screwdrivers and my camera to photograph each stage of the operation I set about repairing it myself. You would not belief how chuffed I am with myself and it is all thanks to your good self for sharing your video with me. You've made a 67 year old woman very proud. Thank you!

Thanks for your kind words. This Sony hifi is crisp and clear with nice punchy bass. Loved the compact design of this. It is a shame that most people don't have time to troubleshoot and fix old tech. I'm glad this video helped you with fixing your own. Preservation is something I am very passionate about and I'm glad that others like yourself out there think the same. E-waste is already bad for our environment and it's only going to get worse 10 years from now. Not to mention how some of this older tech is vastly superior in quality and functions than some of this new stuff. 😊

Amazing worked perfectly, I was literally about to throw this system away and at the last minute decided to google it and your video came up , thought I would take a punt and ordered the belts from eBay for £7.49 and gave it a go , watching the video gave me the confidence to try and it worked perfectly , thank you

This was very helpful Thanks. I have another problem with my MHC-NIX the display does not work is it a seperate problem or connected to the CD belts needed. I love this set and if I can save it I would like to try.

Separate issue. Do some LCD segments appear or is it completely blank? It is likely that the connection between the PCB and cable for LCD has failed. Often this can be remedied by carefully applying pressure and heat typically MAX 185c using professional micro electronics heat gun with fine nozzle. Takes practice to get it right. Need to keep moving the heat source to avoid melting anything. It is common for the LCD connection to fail again after fix. Good luck.

Have you check whether or not the infared is still working on your remote? You can test this by pointing your camera to the sensor and seeing if button presses shows up on the camera. If it does then it's probably the IR sensor of the HIFI itself.

@@AzNstat Yes i did sir.. remote is lighting in the camera! I even have 2 remotes! Both working.. Its the device thats not working..

for me the belts were molten and i fixed and replaced everything but the motor doesn't spin when i click a button it only spins when powering it on pls help
