Why Hi-Res? The best way to put it that I can think of is this: 1. Our human ears are limited to 20Hz-20KHz, yes, no arguing with that. 2. But natural sound frequencies in nature(analog) is not capped by this human hearing capabilities! 3. Frequencies beyond 20KHz can ‘shape’ how we hear 20-20KHz sounds. 4. This is why Hi-Res sound feels so natural and ‘real’ in human audible frequency range. 5. You are not hearing the frequencies >20KHz. 6. But you are hearing how these >20KHz inaudible frequencies are interacting and shaping audible frequencies.

Can I get help seeing if a full system in my Cabrio? The site says speakers won’t.

Sure. Fit options for the rear panels are limited due to mounting height and depth restrictions. What do you plan to use for power?

@@crutchfield a 5 channel 100 watt per channel DSP ES Sony Amp. Sony ES component speakers 6.5 door and tweeters in dash. Wanting to find out if Sony XS GTF1339 5 1/4 will fit in back side panels. Debating an ES 10” rear sub in an enclosed box is good, or getting a powered Rockford 300 watt sub. The rears, maybe the Polk 522? The fit. It’s a thing.

Will running 2 Sony es 12 inch subwoofers okay to run on the sony xm-1es?
@crutchfield6 ай бұрын
Yes! As we have mentioned in our replies to your other posts, they sure will work together! Just a refresher and so viewers here will know, the XS-W122ES would each get 300 watts RMS which is plenty for good performance while the XS-W124ES model would produce the sound quality as well as produce harder hitting bass because each would be able to get 500 watts RMS

I have a Pioneer SPH-EVO950DAB head unit and JL Audio C3-650 in the front and C2-650 in the rear. I’m happy with how loud the system gets before distortion kicks in. I’m wondering if adding an amp will improve sound quality? Or just reduce distortion at too high volumes? I don’t have a sub at the moment and would consider the JL Audio XD 5 channel V2 or the XM-5ES Also as the JL XD v2 is a few years old now, is the technology old and outdated compared to the Sony? Thanks in advance for your response
@crutchfield5 ай бұрын
Since your JL Audio C3's have a maximum RMS rating of 75-watts RMS, JL Audio is the best option. If you want a more recent amplifier with the best technology, use the JL Audio XDM700/5 in the link below! www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc166/p_13698685/JL-Audio-XDM700-5.html

@crutchfield5 ай бұрын
The XDM700 is upgraded and features a marine rating for vibration and water exposure making it much more robust for the long haul. You still get the differential balanced inputs and NexD amplifier technology for pristine sound quality!

I'm confused... can these ES amps really not power the ES sub correctly? The mono amp has too much power for the subs. Even using 2 subs is too much. Am I missing something here?
@crutchfield5 ай бұрын
The Sony XM-1ES amplifier would be an excellent match to drive a pair of the Sony XS-W124ES 4-ohm subwoofers in the first link below. Each subwoofer can handle 500-watts RMS, perfectly matched to the 1,000-watts RMS output for the XM-1ES amp. www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc166/p_158XSW124E/Sony-XS-W124ES.html

@@crutchfield Oh, I forgot about the 12" subs. I'm needing 10" subs which have 450RMS a piece. That's what was confusing me. Does Sony have an amp to power 2 Sony XS-W104ES?
@crutchfield5 ай бұрын
We do not currently have any other Sony ES series mono amplifiers that are alternatives to the XM-1ES. To use with a pair of the Sony XS-W104ES 10" subwoofers you'll need the Install Bay 3320 digital multi-meter in the link below to ensure the amplifier is properly set up to not overpower your speakers RMS ratings. www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc166/p_1203320/Install-Bay-3320.html

How big the difference is between XM-4ES and XM-GS4 in terms of SQ?
@crutchfield2 жыл бұрын
That is a tough question to answer because the difference that you experience depends on a few factors. One of which is your hearing and how much detail you experience with high resolution audio. And then high resolution audio must be played through the radio and sent to the amp. People who can hear the difference in normal and high resolution audio often describe the difference as a day/night level.

Xm is a AB class so it maybe better for SQ

So I'm looking at buying the XM-1ES but I'm a bit unsure as I have a sony SVC sub with an RMS of 300W@ 4Ohms would this be okay? I'm also thinking about adding another sub (exact same) but does this mean the impedance will drop overall if I connect them to the amp directly given that it has 2 outputs?
@crutchfield Жыл бұрын
Hi Brandon, the Sony XM-1ES is too much for your current sub or even two of them. If you stick with 2 single 4-ohm voice coil subs rated at 300 watts RMS, something around the 600 RMS rating at 2-ohms will work best. Would you like help choosing?

Is the sub channel impedance independent of channels 1-4? In order words, can I run channels 1-4 @4ohm & channel 5 @2ohm, for a single DVC 4ohm sub?

Yes, that will work. You can run each channel at 4 or 2-ohms.

Sir which sony es series amplifier best for XS-W124 ES 500 watt rms power (12 inch) subwoofer ? Sony xm-5es or Sony xm-1es? How many watts rms amplifier matching this subwoofer?

Hi Vinayak , we recommend powering the sub at 75-100% of the 500 RMS power rating. Are you planning to use just one sub? As far as the 5-channel option goes, do you have the specs for the full range speakers you plan to connect?

Sony does not make a perfect matching amp for those speakers. Their closest model is the XM-5ES amp and you definitely want to run the XS-W124ES subwoofer with it. You can find this amp here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_158XM5ES/item.html However, the ideal amp would not over power any of the speakers or the sub and this JL Audio amp is an excellent choice for the ideal setup and it can work with either subwoofer: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_13698678/item.html

In what world, is 1000 watts a lot of power for a sub?

It's peak power not continuous power you need to look into RMS. That peak power may happen within micro seconds for few moments at higher volumes.
