It really just depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Dynamat isn't an absolute necessity with most systems, but the more surfaces you use it on, the better the audio performance will be, in terms of reducing road noise and unwanted resonance.

According to the manual, that indicator, when lit, means that it has detected an unsafe level of incoming voltage and the surge protector has disconnected the power to protect your equipment.

This is something that varies too much to test and have an answer on. Even CD's are recorded louder than others which means distortion would start earlier on the louder CD's than it would the other CDs. And that's just the source causing variations on when the distortion starts. The amp/speakers connected to it will also impact when it starts.

This does not have wireless mirroring. It can mirror a smartphone connected to its USB port

Right now, Anthem lists Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 as compatible. They do not list Windows 11 as being compatible at this time.

@@crutchfield I saw that as well. I have it set up on a different computer with Windows 11 version 23H2 and it works perfect. :( I'll just have to use a longer USB C cable to reach it.

@ I picked up a 20ft cable. Not sure what the issue is with 24H2 windows version. Gave Microsoft remote access and they couldn’t get it to launch either lol. Separate question. If I want to run devices directly into tv and out via earc into Anthem earc output 1. It should still work via Anthem’s ARC option correct? Or is output 1 only for Output so all devices need to connect to hdmi in 1-7 with output 1-3 going to tv?

Actually, Sony does have a Music Center App that works with this receiver.

The Music Center app supports a wide variety of audio formats including Hi-Res. According to Sony on the Music Center app info page, on the playback screen in the app the specific sample rate is not pictured/displayed.

@crutchfield I just installed a ported single 12 on 700 watts on my factory system. I went all out with trim plates, leds, and fiberglass in my trunk. This was the one install where I finally had all the skills to make it a show car install. Next is installing front speakers and second amp to complete my Soundstage. I feel such a sense of accomplishment. No cutting corners on this one. Crutchfield is my go to for my car audio needs from now on.

@crutchfield LOC yes but no DSP. I will definitely add one once I add mids and highs amp. Not sure what brand for front stage yet though. I want good quality but not absurd pricing. I'm kinda leaning toward alpine, hertz, or maybe pioneer. I don't want to compromise too much though. I have 200-300 rms to play with up front.

Nice choice on the Kenwood KAC-M1814! To verify, you want to install it using your factory radio? Did your vehicle come with a factory JBL system?

We do not have a harness to help with installing an amp into your Rav4. You will need to splice into the stock wiring to get the audio to send to the amp as well as run new power wire to the battery for it. Also, new speakers will need to be installed so they can handle the power of the new amp. We can build you a cart with all the gear you will need and have a couple questions to help with recommending the new speakers: What changes are you hoping to make to the sound you get from the stock speakers? What are your two most favorite music genres?

@crutchfield Not willing to slice wires because my Rav4 is still under warranty...there is a brand Beatsonic they make exact same small amp like the kenwood kac m1814- and that beatsonic comes with plug and play harness specifically for Rav4....but both these small amps push out 45 warts x 4 max so rougly 22 watts RMS .. so thats close to what toyota factory Radio output ..so will it make a big difference ?...also is there a way to just upgrade speakers to get a little bit better sound from stock toyota Radio unit ? Setup from toyota is all 4 doors midrange speakers and Not coaxials....and i would like to keep this setup...atleast front door i dont want coaxials because there is 2 tweeters on dash already....can you recommend Midrange speakers that will work great on factory radio ?...there is a brand called powerbass they make plug and play speakers

It is hard to determine the exact wattage of the factory radio. With 22-watts RMS it is possible those amplifiers could give you less of an upgrade from the factory radio's power than the Kenwood KAC-M1814's 45-watts RMS. You can make some major sonic improvements by installing a package with Focal ISU component speakers in your Rav4. The tweeters come with an in-line crossover so installing them in the dash is easier than on some other component speakers. I have a link below, using Focal 2-ways in the rear doors. These will maximize the sound quality using the factory radio, and you can always add an amp that is 60-watts RMS or less like the Kenwood KAC-M1814.
