Another great video, the thing with replacement batteries is they can be hard to fit. I had a similar problem with a PS3 controller battery replacement kit. Thanks TI, cheers.

Thanks @paulrod0711! Yes, they really could have made this easier with one smaller cell (or both)

@Psilosemi Thank you so much for the kind words! The global MiniDisc community has been so great and it's amazing to see so many passionate fans "rediscovering" their love for the format! Like you, I also started with the Sharp MD-MS702 and it still has a special place in my heart. I'm very happy to meet more people from around the world that share the same love and passion for the format and I guarantee you'll have more MiniDisc devices, soon! Thanks again!

Heyho again@@TechnicalInitiative Sorry it took me so long to answer. Thank you lots for your sweet answer. And yeah. I totally am seeing me buying some more MD Hardware... I surely would love to have a "looked after" (that dreadful tinygear) 702 someday. But right now I would love to have a small and thin Player (MD SP is enough) for "everyday" use. (out of the house) I mean I mostly play my MDs in the car with my Sony MDX-CA580 or in the living room on the Hifi with the MDS-JE530. The "Boombox" is for garden work :) It sadly needs AC though. On my list for "carrying around" is a MD Boombox with Battery support. Sadly those are only japanese models, so yeah, THANKS AGAIN for your amazing support: I read your Buyee blog post

@Psilosemi I'm sure you will be getting more MD devices! They aren't as cheap now as they were just a few years ago, but if you're patient, you can find a deal here and there. I used to have an MD player installed in my car and I'm seriously considering doing that again one day. Glad you're spreading the love of MD to your son as well! Thanks again for your support!

what if you put the taped side facing up? it looks like those screw holding tabs are hindering fitment, but the taped side might be slim enough to fit under them nicely and maybe wouldn't impede the switches as much. and the wiring might be long enough to reach from the top to the bottom. lovely unit though. sony used to be so supreme.

It's been awhile, but I did think about that... I think it would have required me to move the charging circuitry out and possibly between the two packs so I went with what worked in the video. Good thinking, though!

Where do you keep getting these hard to find models (or at least for me it seems they're hard to find / never for sale) ? Do you use something like Sendico, Buyee, Ebay or something like that or are they just sent to you / just more of them in your area? I'm going to be getting some models that I would like along with the service manuals along with watching some of your videos and other channels as reference. It certainly isn't as cheap as it was before to getting the nice minidisc models as before at least on Ebay and such. Your videos along with others are Diamonds in the ruff of the internet when it comes to repair and CLA.

@virus7g7 Thank you - very glad to try and help! I use Buyee primarily to search Mercari and Yahoo (tons of tabs open for my saved searches), but these and some others were sent to me by some good friends in the MiniDisc community. The MiniDisc Discord is very active with quite a few great folks. These MZ-E95s were sent to me from a friend in the Discord who needed them serviced. I agree with you - prices are crazy now compared to more than a year ago. I should have stocked up more earlier!

@@TechnicalInitiative Oh wow, thank you for replying so fast! Sorry that I didn't though haha, but oh okay that makes sense. I had a feeling that you must have used some and or all of those sites to find them along with some method and maybe some other outside sources too. I do find good deals on Ebay from time and again but I either just miss it or wait too long. I might make a Buyee account also at some point to broaden my net of chances and deals as time goes on. Hopefully we won't have to fight each other on auctions on ones we really want haha. Again, thank you for what you do. It might not seem like it but you really do help the opportunity and longevity of this format not just for me, but for many of us and the ones that are yet to discover it.

@virus7g7 Yes, Buyee has been great, but I caution you that sometimes they make it too easy to buy things! I'm so glad that these videos are helping some folks discover or rediscover the format and possibly help keep some of these amazing little devices alive. Thank you again for the kind words! I hope to keep learning and fixing more of these!
