Congrats on 500 subscribers! The RM-MC12ELK - or as I like to call it: the RM-MC11EL Deloox™. Slightly different layout to the 11, and before everything got turned upside down with the 30 series. (Not to mention the flaky jog lever we both love to hate.) The one thing I'm not a fan of with the 12 - and the same goes for any of the kanji-capable remotes / device displays - is the full-width romaji display that spaces out the letters too much for my liking. I understand kanji being monospaced - essentially filling a square - but the trade-off is that any titles using the alphabet look like this.

@phatsuasinkatsu - Thank you! Great point regarding the spacing... yeah long titles can take forever to scroll across the screen, but I'll take that over a fiddly jog lever any day!

I have a Panasonic Mr270 unit that’s NetMD-compatible, which was one of the main features I wanted in a MiniDisc player. That way, I didn’t have to deal with other methods of adding music to the MiniDisc. So far, it’s been great, so I’m pretty sure this Sony unit would be just as good. I’ve been looking around Japanese auctions to find another unit to use as a player while using my Panasonic for ripping discs. However, I don’t know if anyone else has had the same experience, but it seems like the Japanese auctions are drying up when it comes to MiniDisc players. For the life of me, I couldn’t find anything but MiniDisc lots.

The 270 is a great unit which I still don't have!!! I have a 240 though, which looks about the same without NetMD. Mercari seems to have plenty - for example, a search on "Sony MZ" turns up a bunch. Let me know if you want more help and I can help you find something! I've also got quite a few players/recorders for sale via MDcon.live

I love mine, also my favorite! The dock allows it to live on my desk and makes using WebMD Pro frictionless!

@bitboy - seriously - it's great to leave it parked as a good-looking NetMD recorder!

Hi TI, The MZ-N1 is a nice recorder. However, my favourite one is the MZ-N910 Type S. It's the one I use for recording with ElectronWMD mainly because of the speed of recording. The MZ-N1 is a beautiful recorder that also looks premium. Thanks for the video. Cheers

@paulrod0711 Thank you! The MZ-N910 is a great choice! Unfortunately, I've only ever had 1 working one (2 broken write head cable) that I sold. I do have an MZ-N920 that I plan to use a bit more to see how they've improved on the MZ-N1.

I managed to get a blue one 'no dock though 'pretty powerful .

well explained, thanks! are you recording with your iPhone? You probably noticed the minimal focusing distance is large resulting in blurring closeup, time to upgrade to a better cam!
@TechnicalInitiative7 ай бұрын
Thanks! The blurry part was me trying my Osmo Pocket 2 which apparently has a pretty bad close focal distance. The Pixel 8 Pro is usually fine but at some point I will have to start using my good cameras!

Hey dude, as always thanks for this great content. Talking about buying one, could you tell me what is the price for one of those in good condition nowadays?
@TechnicalInitiative7 ай бұрын
@MiniLumpa - thank you! If you're going to get one without the dock, it should be well under $100 or so. Especially since they often can't record (or are untested). Prices are different now, but keep an eye out and some untested ones may go much cheaper (< $50) but you may need to do some cleaning/lubing (at minimum) or fixing

5:00 This remote is not convenient. I think this RM-MZE50MP remote control is the most convenient of all. But I'm not sure if it will fit your model MZ-N1. Also on my DAT WALKMAN, a very similar remote control is RM-ED100, they are very similar, but it is only for DAT, TCD-D100 or PCM-M1

I'm glad you like it! I didn't like the small display, nor the micro plug that needs an adapter for other headphones. I have one but prefer to use my other headphones, so I don't use it.
