It will most likely be just like the new NEX-VG900, which is the first full frame mirrorless video camera. But I don't think they would replace the NEX 7 because, like the alpha series, they seem to be growing the line with increasing numbers. And with the lenses, when you use E-mount lenses on the VG900 it just crops the sensor to the correct size to adjust for them.

How do You focus the powerzoom lens if You use the ring to zoom? :)

At 43:50 TheDigitalDigest makes mention of the nex-7's missing hybrid auto focus (contrast + phase detection AF). In reality though I believe that this problem can be solved. How so? Well since the nex-7 has contrast detection already, you would just have to get the A-mount adapter which has phase detection capability, then connect a compatible lens to the A-mount adapter after connecting the adapter to the nex-7 body.

I had a NEX 7. Took the same pictures with my 5N and my new NEX 7 and the pic had a lot more noise on the NEX 7. ISO was 3200. Sold the NEX 7 and waiting for the NEX 7n or 9. I picked up a 5R body and I am impressed! The top "Navi" wheel on the 5R gives it 2/3 of the "Tri-Navi" of the NEX 7. The round dial below is the 2nd control, which is the same dial the NEX 7 uses as part of its "Tri Navi". ISO is adjusted easily as well and no need to menu dive on the NEX 7 or NEX 5R. Get a NEX 5R or 6.

What lens will perform better on the 7 than the 6? You mentioned that many times, but you don't really explain it. How is it better if both are aps-c. The only difference i can tell is the colour depth of 8-bit and 10 bit. Can you be a little more specific as to what lens and how it is better?

Rumor is an NEX-7m, to replace the 7. Regarding FF NEX camera, it will work like the VG900. If you use an E-mount lens, you will have to use crop mode (think of using a D700/600 in crop DX mode). You will be able to use the NEX-to-Alpha mount adapter, for Full Frame images. You can also mount Minolta 35mm lenses like the old Maxxum 50mm f/1.7 for some nice FF images/video.

I've tried 6 flashes on my NEX6. None worked and I believe my hotshoe is defective. I'm torn between replacing my 6 with another 6 or the NEX7. I shoot Realtor home interiors with the 16mm pcake and Sony ultra wide-angle adapter, and need an external flash that swivels AND rotates for under $350. What flashes would you (anyone?) recommend for the NEX6 and/or the NEX7? ANY brand, and manual mode is fine. Will not spend $500+ for a flash!!! What flashes do you use on your 6 and 7? Thank you!!!

You're right. I watch his videos because they are informative. They are also somewhat disorganized and, yes, repetitious at times in that he does not seem to have prepared a good outline for the video (and then stick to it) but rather "wings it". With enough video time, he does manage to cover the waterfront but it can be trying.

Absolute doesnt have problems i use as well Nikon D OR E series,just change the distance betwin front the glass and image sensor...i use digital zoom in EVF!

I actually ordered a NEX 6. Used from B&H Photo. However the price drop on the NEX 6 from Sony till June 22nd for $799 makes the 6 a great choice over the 5R because you get the better build, viewfinder and and built in flash for $200. But same pic quality between the 5R and 6!

Great video, but I'm a little confused about one comment (made 2 times during this video, the second time at 41:56). I'm an ultra wide-angle shooter. I am trying to decide between the NEX6/7 and think my primary lens will be the Sony SEL 10-18. So it's important to understand this comment better. I thought the extra resolution would be better for such a stretched FOV? The 10-18 SEL is some of Sony's higher quality glass. But because of it's FOV, better on the NEX6? Help me understand better.
