Covri some countries already have super reliable and fast connections (500-800Mpbs or even faster). At some point you reach your max in daily experience, the difference won't be anywhere near as noticeable as between 20 years ago and now. Even if they would deliver 6000Mpbs... maybe a very, very big download would go faster but that's it, and even then it wouldn't be worth mentioning. We really reached that boring point where the internet/phones/cameras/consoles etcetera have improved so quick and so much that they constantly have to think of new but unnecessary things to keep it interesting. I think a lot will happen in terms of functionalities over the internet though. For example, the cloud will improve and become way more important in many ways over the next couple of years.

Actually, sega is very prominent in japan still. A large majority of the popular arcade titles are owned by sega, and with how bustling the arcade scene is, you can find a machine with the sega logo on every block in Tokyo. It’s a real shame they don’t bring any of that stuff to the west, but it makes sense since there’s a bunch of infrastructure around the arcade scene there that we just don’t have in NA or EU.

Couch co-op was widely popular and it had full backwards compatibility with the PS1. On top of that, music CD and movie DVD support. Easily the best console ever created. The only bad thing it had that I can think of is the silly region lock.

Yeah, and once you unseal it, it's one of the biggest cancers in this world Shit costed as much as a kidney and it was plastic garbage, r1 and r2/l2 kept breaking/getting stuck constantly, the damn wires of the controller were permanently attached and thus, as long as a wire fucks up, the entire controller does... I've always hated the Dualshock 1/2 controller

jeff surett during that time the gamecube’s problem is it’s mini disks and the Dreamcast was already 2 years old and starting to die it was very sad. Xbox was a new console at the time and PS2 had backwards compatibility and a dvd drive so it’s a win win for the ps2
