Could I bother you and ask ya what it means when I hit the record button and all it does is say, "data disc"? When I first insert the blank disc I can hear the laser scanning it, but nothing beyond that point and saying, "data disc". Thanks in advance!

Hello. Are you using a 'CD AUDIO' type of CD? This unit may not work with non CD audio or music formatted cd's. Some recordable CDs are only for data and won't work in these types of recorders. Hope this helps.

Had the same "data disc" pop up but will get music cd-r's and see if it works, I just got this device to work as I got it for cheap and finally found the parts and love it, got one question have you tried recording from a tape deck to disc? if so is it as simple as you showed from another cd player?

Hey Jeff, I have a stuck tray on the play (left) side. There is a green light that won't turn off in tray 1. What does it mean when the color changes from green to orange? I noticed that when I opened up the unit from the top and looked inside the belt (rubber band) is still completely attached. How do you turn off the green light since that may be the issue but I'm not really sure?

Hello Mars. I'm sorry but I am not sure what the green to orange color change indicates. I also no longer own this unit so I won't be able to look at or test it myself. I also scanned the owners manual and don't see any mention of the color change and what it might mean. Sorry! Thank you for the comment.

The green light indicates that the CD is there. An orange light means that the CD is being selected .

good evening why is it that when I press the erase button to erase a track it makes me check the disc, I have tried everything and it still takes me a while I have not finalized my burning

Hello Raphael. Are you using CDs that have a label of 'CD AUDIO'? I know I tried using non-'CD AUDIO' recordable CDs before and came up with errors. I am not sure if this is your issue but that is the only thing I can think of that might cause an issue like that. I also no longer have this unit so I cannot test it for myself. Sorry. @@vintageav good morning yes of course, I use audio cdrs. I even started a recording but I can't erase it even though I haven't finalized it. Have you ever been able to delete songs yourself? see you soon

I am trying to record from a mixer. Can you tell me what settings (digital, analog, opt, shuffle, etc) the recorder should be on and how the red/white cords should be hooked up?

I would recommend downloading the owners manual. There is a lot of information in there to guide you on the connections and setup. It would probably be kind of difficult to explain here in the comments section. Sorry.

The mixer cable should be in the output jacks. Has to be analog. The red and white audio cable at the other end should go to the input jacks.
