Shot some slo mo today for the first time and when I played back this evening on my Mac there was 'stepping' throughout. Could that be my old Mac or am I doing something wrong in the set up. Fantastic footage for the cam by the way.

Will; My Macbook pro is at least 10 years old, and am still using "Snow Leopard" 10.6.8. Have been using with the RX10 II, with no problems at all. I was really surprised, and didn't know for sure that my old Mac would recognize, 4k. Have to step down 4k with Handbrake, to full HD, but works, and looks fine. Great slomo. Watched on a 55" tv, and have to say it was jaw dropping quality. Amazing camera. Ron

Great footage! I'm loving mine so far. Have you encountered any issues yet? My only complaint has been the panoramic photo mode. I know that's more of a novelty but I can't get it to shoot a panoramic without error even atop a tripod.

IrixGuy's Adventure Channel for me panoramic shoots looks perfect, even from hand , all I can complaint is that I can install only 10 apps on it.

IrixGuy's Adventure Channel Panoramic mode was design for hand use, not tripod. Something to do with the arc of the motion. When on tripod camera is pivoting about its own axis, and in hand use is further away from pivot point.

IrixGuy's Adventure Channel the main point of this mode is to make handheld panoramics possible. For tripod use simply take photos as you normally would, then auto-stitch them with basically any photo-editor.

Great camera. Loving it to the max. Battery issues are the only complaint, but I did turn on airplane mode to save some juice. Love XAVC s HD 120p. 4x slo mo is very smooth and sharp. 960 not as sharp but mainly a novelty for me.

SENDEREYVIDEO Yes, it does. I am using the Sony Ax100 4k camera which is basically the Rx10ii in camcorder form with a different lens. However, if you are using a Mac it's still better to put the Xavc s2 into Adobe Media Encoder and covert it to pro res for editing and grading. If I was on a PC I'd use the avid codecs or the Go Pro codec. I have a powerful computer but editing native is not as smooth as converting it. You will get bigger files converting it but it works better than doing it native.

I think I'd still choose the Sony FDR-AX100 4k camera over this. They have the same sensor, the lens seems to be sharper on the AX100 although it's not a constant aperture. The stabilization is better, there is no recording time limit, the battery last 4 hours, extended wasabi batteries last about 7 hours. Same 100Mbs XAVS codec. The one thing the RX10ii has over the AX100 when it comes to video is the S-Log picture profiles. However I grade the standard profile on the AX100 fine. Would be nice to have both. They seem to be the same camera but one of them is the camcorder version and the other is the photo version but also has the video. Both have full manual controls. I know the ND filters are in the RX10ii but I can't find if they have as many as the AX100. The main reason I'd choose the AX100 is how stable it is using a camcorder over a picture camera, the par focal lens with the zoom rocker makes zooming in and out really smooth. But, still the same sensor, basically looks the same. Just different ergonomics.

Yeah, the Ax100 is an amazing camera. I'm sure the RX10 ii is as well since they are so similar. Just depends on what format one wants. There are more advantages for me in the video camera version.

+silveradofilms I've never once had issues filming and photographing the police, if they come up to you asking questions, just be very courteous, explain what you're doing, in almost all situations, they'll leave you be. As long as you're not an arsehole who starts screaming "It's my right to take photos, I want your sergeant down here now!" they're usually very happy. You just have to be aware of the policies regarding filming where you are, for example in some train stations, they have a policies on no photos and filming without prior agreement.

Slow motion słabej jakości, zoom chyba digital ten maks to widać, że trzęsie, a jak z dźwiękiem? Nagrywa jakieś odgłosy z wewnątrz? Na jakimś zbliżeniu słychać lekką terkotkę od mechanizmu zoomu. Nagrania fhd raczej nie powalają. Widoczna utrata jakości.

xmark40 slow motion slabej jakosci ale lepsze niz wcale, pieciokrotne zwolnienie jeszcze wyglada znosnie , dzwieku z wewnatrz nie slychac, co do trzesienia to jest na to pare sposobow , 4K ma tylko 25 klatek na sekunde,wystarczy przelaczyc na HD w 50 klatek/s I po trzesieniu nawet podczas chodzenia, takze video ogladane na laptopie bedzie trzeslo natomiast na telewizorze o duzym odswierzaniu (np.800Hz) jest naprawde plynne, co do fhd to raczej jest toexperymentalna pokazuwka sony ze to jest sprzet bardzo zaawansowany jesli chodzi o wydajnosc czyli pozytek zadny bardziej do zabawy.

Ja mam X920 i zastanawiałem się nad tym sony ale jak wyskoczyli z cena ponad 6 tys to było niezłe przegięcie. Poza tym mam bardzo niemiłe doświadczenia z Fz1000 w którym 4k nie miało nawet stabilizacji nie mówiąc już o stercie poważnych wad. Jest jeszcze do rozpatrzenia nowy G7.

xmark40 ja mam wlasnie bardzo dobre doswiadczenia z poprzednimi modelami sony jezeli chodzi o wideo , kodeki itp dlatego nie experymentuje z innymi markami, ja szczerze muwiac to od dawna czekalem na bridge camera sonego z 4K, podstawa dla mnie to automatyczny zoom ,manualny odpada(g7), jak dla mnie sony znowu mnie nie zawiodlo ,moze z cena :-)

No niestety cene to potrafią dowalic. Ja mam mieszane uczucia co do sony. Miałem hx20 aparat tragedia, laptopa za 4 koła tragedia. Sam plastik, jakośc sprzetów o połowe tańszych. Miałem dwie kamery gw55/66 i parę innych kamer od sony. Najlepszą była stara cx105 tyle że w pomieszczeniach lipa. Ale obraz miała super. No i brak stabilizacji opt. Teraz nie wiem co kupić axp33 do mnie nie przemawia. Wolno łapie ostrość, smuzy itp.
