Get a Fuji x100 to really learn photography. I tried a number of song cameras and I dislike them. Their pictures have no soul. They might be technical impressive but the way the pictures come out are not for me.

Pro cameras usually shoot footage with a flat color profile which doesn't look very pretty but it hold a great amount of detail. It is expected that you will take this footage and color correct it in post. Cameras like the RX100 aren't pro cameras so they will just give you great looking video without any editing needed.

Bought the a used M2 recently and took it with me during my trip to Paris and Rome. It did really well, even in the unexpected rain showers in Rome. Also, the NFC was really nice since I could sit down, copy a picture to my phone, edit it on Snapseed, and then upload. It made it really convenient and super simple.

Ok I will totally look like a noob but I was searching particularly for a review of this camera. I didn't even look at the views or your channel description because I wanted to get straight to the watching the review. I just assumed that you were going to be a tiny youtuber (with hardly any views/subscribers) and I was about to comment: "this video was amazing, you should totally have more subscribers!" I was surprised, to say the least! I'm going to say it anyway though! I enjoyed this review a lot. I don't normally watch reviews all the way through, the tend to be boring because people just do not stop going on. But watching you was rather refreshing and I found myself actually enjoying watching a review! All your points were very well thought out, clearly. Watchng this via chromecast on a giant screen and the photo samples really are beyond anything else I've seen, including DSLR's WOW! The size and the movable screen make it beyond belief!

Ended up grabbing this camera recently thanks to yours and some other folks reviews. Great stuff. Video quality is top notch with good lighting, the audio of the mic indoors is honestly better out the box than my $70 mic is (my mic can do better, but only after audacity fiddling, the RX100 M2 doesn't require any editing). Being able to tilt the flash means with a bit of paper and some careful bouncing of the flash you can get shots comparable to having a proper lighting set up while on the go. My only *extremely* minor complaint I'd have is that you can't seem to stop long exposure shots once you've started them - even if you turn the camera off and back on, it continues until the shot is taken. This has caused me some annoying waits when I've forgotten that it was still on the longest long exposure and tried to take a shot. That's about it though, and I was trying really hard there to think of something I don't like about the camera, but that's all I could think of. Solid buy and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone considering the buy!

Great review as usual. I have to say this camera looks beautiful and the pros definitely seem to soften the blow of the price. I've been considering doing my own YT vids so this might be the right camera for me with its DSLR experience without the fuss and expense.

Definitely agree with you Marques. I think this is the perfect youtube camera because it's also so great for vlogs that many youtubers do because of it's small size that still retains excellent image/video quality. A micro 4/3 camera like one of the sony nex cameras are also great, but you can't pocke them because they have a protruding lens.

What do you think about the QX-100 smartphone pairing lens? I believe I read that it is the same optic in the RX-100, and some of the features you tout in this video are alternately offered by having the lens paired with your smartphone.

nikon v1... yes smaller sensor, but optical viewfinder, great video, amazing autofocus and the benefit for interchangeable lenses... for at least half the price

It's one of the biggest sleepers hits in the entire compact cam. People generally don't realize how powerful this camera is. Some more really positive things to note about this camera. Please bump this up :) 1. It has option of switching between PAL 50 frame, NTSC 60 frame AND 24p frames per sec vids. This is to die for and it is something that doesn't exist with the mark 1 2. USB power can be enabled and you can run the camera off typical retail battery packs that offer 2.1amp indefinitely!

It was only until I saw your Nexus 5 re-visited clip where you said you also carry the rx100 and that got me right onto Google and I think I may be getting the Sony now. The video from that little camera does indeed look even better than your already good regular footage in this video. The colors are more punchy (I guess at default settings), and it seems to have even more detail, too. Still, all of your videos are awesome, no matter the camera!

Hello, great video as always, were the pictures shot in auto mode? I bought a Nikon DSLR and am no photographer, it's over my ability, the thing is it's not very good in auto mode, in fact the pictures and videos were pretty bad under normal indoor lighting, very disappointed with it, is this easier to use and does the auto mode take good pic's and videos?
