PS3 was extremely underrated when it came out. I think the majority of people didn’t know how insane the PS3 was for the advanced tech it had in 2006. Blu-ray Discs, Bluetooth and rechargeable controllers (up to 7 could be connected), built in WiFi! You could also download Linux and make it a home computer. Also you could play PS1 and PS2 games. Don’t forget the web browser! I had movies and music in it as well. Endless amount of content could be possible in that machine. I remember people saying it was overpriced when it came out and all I was thinking was that it was underpriced for what it had.

@DylanSwitzerland Yeah, you're right. In my opinion, 7th-gen game consoles, alongside the Wii U and 3DS (both 8th-gen consoles), were quite experimental with their online services, where each platform had a suite of online apps that offered users unique experiences that could only be found on any competing console. Nowadays, current-gen consoles (and the Switch) only offer three types of online services: Online Play, Netflix-style services with 100+ games to play and streaming apps. The reason why the current console generation's online services feel so sterile compared to the ones from the past is because the console makers are trying to have their online services appeal to their core gamers; the kind that never really appreciated those "unique online experiences" and would rather dedicate their time on a specific game.

If the ps3 truly was more powerful than the 360… why did every multiplat game work better on the 360? Also ps3 can’t do any 2 things at the same time, not even instal while you play
@Jinkyuu19992 күн бұрын
Because it was too complex for developers to make their games properly! Xbox 360 was more user-friendly!
@DylanSwitzerland2 күн бұрын
Because the PS3 was designed in a way that made it extremely hard for game developers to create games for the console. This lead to game developers going towards the 360. Any game that was developed under the PlayStation studios team had access to how to create games for the console which is why PS3 exclusives were much better than other games on the PS3. As time went on it became easier for people to develop games for the console which lead to Sony wining the 7th generation of gaming by a long shot.

@DylanSwitzerland2 күн бұрын
@@sanderhackerhd8369 highly agree that 6th and 7th were the best, the PS5 is fantastic though, just sucks that innovation isn’t really there. They have to do subscriptions and bring back older titles, which is cool and all, but there’s definitely something missing.
@sanderhackerhd83692 күн бұрын
@DylanSwitzerland It doesn't need any subscriptions, it needs just starting the game after putting the disc in! Nowadays, a game disc it's just a key to install the game and the company can easily take it away from you even if you own it. A disc should give you full ownership, subscriptions are kind of the opposite of that.
