SONY SRF S84 UNBOXING (IT'S FAKE?)

Goodnight! I'm Brazilian, from Rio de Janeiro. I really like Walkman, especially SONY. I have 4 SONY SRF-S84, one gray and blue, both use the CXA1129N and I have an SRF-88 Sports, which also uses the CXA1129N. The SRF-88 is a little more sensitive than the SRF-S84 in terms of the antenna, it has the BPF that is used in the SRF-39. And a SONY SRF-M37 that uses the TA2154AFN on the Radio. The quality of Tuning and selectivity on the Radio is very low.

I wanted to thank you for all the work you have done in clarifying this matter. I have had in my hands two allegedly counterfeit units that I bought a long time ago on EBAY (and that I returned to China), but I DID NOT DISASSEMBLE ANY OF THEM, I returned them to their sellers after brief tests that showed me how terribly badly they tuned and how badly that could be heard, that could NOT be original. After some time after those 2 allegedly counterfeit units purchased from two different Ebay sellers, I have bought about 40 units these years, especially through EBAY, but all original, since after my research to perfectly differentiate the good ones, the original ones, WITHOUT NEEDING TO DISASSEMBLE THEM, I can differentiate them both by seeing them and by seeing their boxes without even opening them. I know all the details to differentiate an original from a copy. But even so, I was very interested in knowing WHY THAT WAS LIKE THIS, and to do so it was necessary for someone to debunk some false model, and for that I very much appreciate YOUR EFFORTS.

Good afternoon! The CXA1129N CHIP, SONY did not make the information about this CHIP available, and it is the same as the Coca Cola formula. the TOSHIBA TA2154F does, and SONY no longer makes components. For me, this Radio is a new version with the TOSHIBA CHIP. As several companies manufacture CHIPs that were already manufactured by TOSHIBA. The SONY SRF-M37 uses this TA2154F CHIP, I have a new one. reception is much lower than the CXA1129N. And the only CHIP manufactured that works with 1.5v is the TA2154F. So as there is no way for another company to manufacture the CXA1129N CHIP, the only alternative is to use the TA2154F.

So in your looking inside of the Sony SRF-S84 fake you have found the chip TA2154AFN instead of the CXA1129N?

Yes, original Sony SRF s84 should have cxa1129n IC inside.
