I think JBL wasn't seening those products move as much as they wanted. People lean more towards echo dot, Bose and Sonos when it comes to those home speakers it seems

No you don't need the app if you don't want. in the app you can update the speaker or EQ I believe. but if you already like that you hear you are fine without the app 100%

The problem is that every song is done differently, I noticed that I had to adjust eq with every song and this thing sounded amazing .

@@WannaBuyIt bet, yeah I have the lil one the xb12 and I'm pretty satisfied on how it sounds for it's size but the battery would die in like a hour and change on max volume. I got the xb43 in hopes it would be way better but it wasn't so I might just try to go a lil further down to this one...as long it got some decent sound, some type of bass and can last more then a hour then I think I can manage😅 I'm just a Sony fan at heart lol

Yeah I wish it had more bass and on certain songs with the volume high it can get a little nasty. Overall its doing everything that I thought it would, good looks on the review.

sony's already doing portable speaker throughout the years. i got my first one of flat form factor like a smartphone and there used to be no bass you can expect from a mini portable speaker. though it's louder than any speaker today of it's size, but comparing it with today's xb series the xb is like having lots of extra bass, that's not wrong.

Oh sorry bud I thought I replayed to this. Been a while from this speaker but I will say 70-80% you should get about 6-10 hours. That’s just off the top of my head it made it through work with me everyday during testing and I was there around 6-8 hours some days

If I recall bud this one just gave me the warning beeps and died 30-40 later. I used a good amount of speakers since so now my brain is trying to remember which battery life outcome was what. But I do believe it just died and did t lower the volume. But I also didn’t use that stamina it might do the volume lowering in that mode

Loved the speaker but it's kinda big. It doesn't fit in bike bottle rack and the JBL Flip fits perfect due to it's compact size. But then again, I heard the flip 5 only has 1 speaker

Yea you can if you want to use it like that. It might roll lot but as long as you are keeping it in place should be fine 👍🏾. I think you will be ok sound wise as well just find that sweat spot side to lay it on

Was super disappointed with this speaker. Xtra Bass is basically on life support even with EQ. Decent sound, that sounds really good when low and pretty hollow and a little distorted at high volume. Ended up returning the speaker for something more to my liking. Really enjoy my xb33 & xb43 though, the xb23vtakes the L to me...I feel Sony couldve done better with the xb23.

They could but they did make the xb23 the most loudest speaker in its class range though but for indoor listening it’s good and rich but the only weakness is bass deepness which is ok as some cheaper speakers like tribit, and anker does better at the same price or less but like jbl and bose I found jbl bass to be alright as it doesn’t have any punch as at maximum volume it bass isn’t that great what so ever but with bose its ok as it still have punch as I do wish it have more bass as I think they should do with an update like add a sound mode but I will say the xb33 sounds great

Sound quality at low Volumes: Xb23 6/10, Xb33 7/10, Xb43 9/10. At high volumes: Xb23 5/10, Xb33 8/10, Xb43 8,5/10 So the xb43 is the best, but also the heaviest by far. If you need only low volumes, the xb23 is decent, too. If you need higher volumes sometimes, the xb33 is a great choice, as it still sounds good even at max volume and is still handy and easily portable.

Yea it was about the same when we tested them out next to each other. I was trying to give this speaker to my coworker for his flip because he hates the battery life of the flip and when we tested it next to each other It didn’t stand out of out shine the flip. It was kinda embarrassing that the flip even though smaller bass was on par and he thought better 🤷🏾‍♂️. Long story short he didn’t want this speaker and kept the flip that he is frustrated with 😂. But in my opinion the bass is ok but than again I try out a lot of speakers so my opinion might be stronger than most.

It has bass all right but that is about all! I bought one, had to decide between Sony and JBL Flip 5. Bass is pretty much all that you hear from those speakers. No high frequencies at all. If there is no tweeter all you hear is THUMP THUMP THUMP since there is no definition in sound. My Mac laptop has a better sound in that respect. It wouldn't kill engineers if they included 3 dollar tweeter in the speaker and have 10 times better sound. Same for both Sony and JBL.
