Just like the new Sony XB43 and Sony XB33… the new Sony XB23 sounds significantly better than its predecessor the Sony XB22. And over all the XB23 is a great sounding little speaker. But I just find it really weird that sony removed a lot of features from the XB23 compared to the XB22.

Great review!! (i stumbled upon one in used condition at a local retailer here in Germany, condition was/ is "as good as new", was used for presentation purposes at the store.. So battery life really *could* become an issue sooner than when bought "new", but so far.. Totally satisfied with purchase... 100% improvement over my previous bt-speaker I used - logitech x100.. Love the design, using it at home as main external speaker.. No need for audio jack, smaller size, nfc,... Just need (very) good audio quality (check), especially optional bass (check), modern specs (BT 5.0, Usb-C, check) and a neat design (check).) So I am VERY satisfied with sony's work here 😃👍 (PS non present "party-connect" compatibility to previous models sucks but thats just how companies make money....)

I was literally just about to type that out. The cadence and pace of his speech was driving me nuts, and I know that’s not how he talks on a normal basis. The weird “narration” speech patterns does not work very well in this context imo.

Yes, they have gotten rid of it. It will still say "please charge" but will not cut volume.

i have the xb 21 and i noticed that as well because one day when i was normally using my speaker it said "please charge" but it didn't cut the volume to the half like it used to

Problem with round speakers is placement, if you hit them accidentally, boom they go rolling down ........

Dude there is a major difference between mono and stereo mode. Mono will sound more bassy and stereo will give you the full spectrum of the speakers and the highs are sharper.

Maybe you gonna answer me: Sony says on their website that in stereo mode the sound will come out only from the left speaker (the closest one to the Sony logo). I personally hear a difference but can't understand this feature

I personally own the speaker at my real world battery life is a little over 11 hours in extra bass mode with mixed highs mids and low volumes and yes I heard that some ppl say they have horrible battery life and other ppl say they have good battery life so it depends on what model of the speaker I think.

Don’t do either. Go to Walmart and purchase the soundcore rave neo for $99. I have braven and had the xb33 but both can’t compare to the rave neo. I’m a hype beast over this speaker.

The only way is clearer sound and clarity and better life and bluetooth and there party connect witch works better then before and the xb23 is louder and the xb23 is more durable and have a strap that’s really it. I used to have a xb22 and I liked it alot it is the best smaller portable speaker at that time.

REWIND Sony is nothing more than a money-grabbing company. That’s why most of their speakers sound lacking in both sound quality and bass compared to other speakers of same size. They sound like one or two years behind.

@@CountryDancingMan i ended up getting both and they both had downsides jbl has little to no features like bt 5 ip67 shockproof etc vs the sony but it got louder and it had much more bass the problem is the clarity on the jbl and latency which made me return both and now i am buying an a1 gen 2 from Bang and Olufsen
