Hi, thank you for the video. I just bought a Sony STR 242L receiver. Everything is working, phono deck, CD player, but I cannot get a signal on FM radio. MW works, but I'm in London, so I should be able to get FM. What could be the reason for this please?

Hello. If the tuner is not tuned, it should receive the transmitters, provided that the device is good. But in this video you can see some tips on what kind of electronic error can occur. It is possible that the IC of the tuner may be faulty, but this can only be determined by means of an instrumental measurement. But of course I recommend that you also check the other components, e.g. diodes, transistors, etc.

Hi I have this one. The same resistor (R207)has been changed. 11 volts shows 10 volt on multimeter and 26 volt from d701 is 22 volt. low and noisy sound on FM .What could be the reason for this please?

Hello. If I understand correctly, you replaced the resistor R207. This does not affect the voltage, I think it could be caused by another problem. Check or replace the capacitors around the ic. Also, a defective diode on the affected part can also cause an error. Obviously, it is difficult to give advice blindly, but you can accurately check the IC voltage based on the service description. I had to change the ic, right?

Hi. I think you mean the R207 resistor. You can see this part of the service manual in the video, where you can see that the resistor is 100 ohms.
