Those c-notes are on the bass heavy side of neutral, I have a pair. I really prefer metallic dome tweeters over soft domes. I feel like the crossover is done well. They could do with a slight boost in the high frequencies, but I am not sure if that can be fixed in the crossover.

Anyone know if the str-dh190 remote works on the str-dn1040? At least for the volume and bluetooth feature?

It's nice to see Sony still out there making decent quality amps. Is that playing audio over Bluetooth?
@BGTech13 жыл бұрын
Yes, It’s playing over Bluetooth. I really like it because you can play music from your phone without a AUX cord.

I have too other receivers, but they are older. My Kenwood receiver is the one I use the most. I have too other ones that I don’t use as much. I actually scored my Kenwood amp for free from a electronics recycling box. It was not working, but all I needed to do was replace the power switch. Keep your eyes out for stuff like that, you never know what you might score. I am planning on using this with those c-note speakers for a studio set up at my computer. I got a nice sub that I’m going to use but I still need to build a box.

I wish you would have shown the process of connecting the speakers to the back of the receiver
@BGTech1 Жыл бұрын
Sorry about that. If you need help I could always walk you through the process.

Can you connect 2 speakers and a subwoofer at the same time?
@BGTech13 жыл бұрын
This amp is only two channel and it does not have a subwoofer output. If your sub already has a amplifier you can hook both the subwoofer amp and receiver to your low level input.
@-MarkWinston-3 жыл бұрын
There are 2 sets of speaker outputs. Use one for a pair of speakers and another one goes straight into the high level inputs behind the sub. Adjust crossover from the sub. For music alone, using the high level input is recommended as it will sound more 'musical'.

Is there a way to connect an active subwoofer?
@BGTech13 жыл бұрын
Yes it can be. You need a rca cable to connect the receiver to your subwoofer amp.

@@BGTech1 On the back panel I don't see a "sub" out port..
@jeffcharlton96602 жыл бұрын
You need to connect to a sub via the speaker wire inputs on the sub.. The 190 doesn't have a dedicated subwoofer output jack.

I bought a same receiver my daughter for her birthday. She has a 6 ohm impedance Yamaha speaker. Can you tell me how can I set up the lower impedance on this receiver?
@BGTech12 жыл бұрын
For 6 ohm speakers you can use speaker set A or speaker set B. To use speaker set A connect your speaker to the right or left channel and use the button above the power button to select channel A. With only one speaker you will only get one channel. It’s not possible to get both channels through one speaker because this amp is not bridgeable.

@@BGTech1 Thank you. She has a pair of 6 ohm speakers. So, the bottom is on the front panel or on the remote controller? Thank you again.
@BGTech12 жыл бұрын
@@andrasberethalmi1563 it’s on the front of the receiver labeled “speakers”

@@BGTech1 Thank you! On 4th January we will open the box, and I pay attention to set it correctly. Thank you.
@andrasberethalmi15632 жыл бұрын
@@BGTech1 Hi, the lower impedance we could setup with remote control, enter the Amp menu, and chosen the Sp imp submenu. In this we have two possibility, the default 8 ohm imp. and the 6 ohm lower imp. So we've chosen the 6 ohm. That's all.

NOBODY shows the hook up for the antenna on THIS model, using that plug in "cord" it comes with, with only one (1) wire. All other receivers I have ever owned, always had TWO wires to connect to and it worked AS the antenna.
@BGTech1 Жыл бұрын
Did you look in the manual? Maybe this receiver has an open antenna line like most radio/boomboxs
@kenfrenchu7917 Жыл бұрын
@@BGTech1 Oddly enough, I figured it out all on my own! I just got brave, and "Plugged it in anyway", and it worked! I just assumed it needed two leads, as a ground and a "signal", but noop... And the manual just shows a "drawing" of that same "connection" as I have, just that plug plugged in, and the other end...........not shown. Thanks anyway.! :)
@kenfrenchu7917 Жыл бұрын
@@BGTech1 Well, as it turns out, that 1 single wire IS all it needs, and it works fine as is. Thanks!
