The proof will be in the pudding, but it’s good to hear that Sony are waking up to the value of their older IP. If the market moves broadly towards device-agnostic streaming services (like Gamepass), Sony are not currently well-equipped to be a market leader. It’s crucial they nail this, and the level of love players had for Astro Bot seems to have taught them a valuable lesson. So many neglected but loved IP over there, and especially the platformers and Parappa can generate success without bloated AAA budgets.

The boost in sales for Nier Automata this year could be attributed to the anime that recently ended as well. The anime represented the game’s story very well while also adding new elements. Also the ending makes it seem like the next Nier project will attempt to connect both it to the world of Drakengard (more directly of course).

Hmm ... Wild ARMs kinda jumped the shark in 3 and definitely jumped the shark in 4. There's nothing wrong with making a simpler 2.5D Wild ARMs in the style of the first game. The story needs to be a big focus of the presentation. Lets also revive the customized user options that Wild ARMs gave us. (And while we're at it, let's patch the PS4 version to actually get the cursor to line up with the screen properly too! It worked just fine on the PS3 and PSP versions of the game.

Why would anyone say that GTA 3 on Dreamcast is impossible when it was originally planned and developed as a Dreamcast title? The only reason GTA 3 doesn't have a Dreamcast version officially is because Sega discontinued the Dreamcast way before Rockstar could finish the game. I'm not saying it would have been exactly the same as the final release, but GTA 3 was intended and originally begun development as a Dreamcast game.

Almost correct. It was STARTED / prototyped out on Saturn but deemed to hard to realize there and then moved over to next gen. So it was not really ported but more conceptually starting on Saturn as virtua fighter rpg but the real development started out even before the actually hardware on Dreamcast was fully set

Reality is, those that grew up playing ps1 - 3 are no longer the target audience for Sony. Because we've seen it all now and anything new is not progressive, but regurgitations of past mechanics with a polish. I don't need games as a service, dlc, 300 hours of gameplay, the finest and shiniest shaders. Id be happy with a short game that I can replay (the first DMC wasn't that long, but it had so much replayability, shadow of the colossus didn't take long at all). We need more couch co-op games. Sadly, none of these are popular 'according to Sony marketing team'. They lock older games behind the higher tier subscription, make it very hard to find them in the shittiest online store ever concorted.

As a husband and father, I saw the value of the PS Portal immediately. I use it often with ear buds so my family can use the main TV. Even more now that it has cloud streaming. It's perfect for smaller games like Plucky Squire, whereas I wait to play bigger titles until after the kids are in bed.

Ok lets be real… the motors in the xbox controller are actually the best non-haptic rumbles out there, because they have 4 motors, and has a much higher range of rumble than any controller ive ever used. Its even good at mimicking haptic-like rumbles too. The ps5 haptics for deathloop and ghostwire Tokyo translated so well to the xbox controller that i almost forgot that they weren’t haptics… and games like forza and BG3 do the same. I think nintendos haptics are a little outdated these days ESPECIALLY on its pro controller. Its just not as impactful, and The dualsense kinda took over that lane lol but it was definitely cool when it first released

Sly cooper was my favorite game as a child. I replay it every year on various consoles. I hope if they go back on it that they do it properly. @ First, the final part will have to release, which will probably still be money-hatted by PS, then a complete trilogy edition will release for PS and PC and then you will see it on Xbox after a year I guess. Of course I might be wrong, they returned the money back to Sony and destroyed their relationship. If that happened, yes in a year maybe. Finally, the first will run on Switch 2 but I'm not sure about the second and especially the third. You might never see them on Nintendo, just becuase the systems can't handle these games. And the Switch effect is not a given for the successor as well. Not even for the Switch itself. Octopath didn't see the Switch effect and was quickly ported to Xbox and PC as well. B-b-b-but I thought SIE said not long ago that they don't have enough original IP? 🤔 As for Shenmue, I would imagine that Xbox incentivized Sega to make it an Xbox exclusive, not to mention the other exclusive games they got for the platform. Sega certainly bounced back relatively quickly once they transitioned to a 3rd party development studio.

I'm glad consoles and handhelds are region free. I feel the Dreamcast didn't do well here in the US because people(Myself included) har imported. Then when it was close to US launch, mods were out. It was no need to buy again.

I think Astro bot made them realise we and they still need the mascot platforming games in the portfolio. I truly think the success of sly cooper on PS+ is going to lead to a remastered port of 4 and eventually a new game
