Doing 4k with mobile-chips isn't that expensive anymore, so they can do it while the Switch 2 can be affordable. Although the 4K will be for simple games like Mario Party and Animal Crossing, not heavy games like CoD or Hogwarts.

My biggest disappointment with PS5 over the last 4 years is the lack of older backwards compatibility. If PS5 can run PS2 games via an emulator, why don't we have backwards compatibility for discs? A 4k Blu ray drive can read DVDs. Firmware update please! (Same goes for PS3 games on Blu-Ray Discs.)

Didn't think about that, but you're right. There are certain games that perform better in handheld mode because when rendering in 720p even with the underclocked CPU they can achieve better performance (for example, Korok Forest in Breath of the Wild had less stuttering in handheld than in docked mode). So it would be an option to render switch1 games in 720p and achieve 1080p with better framerate using AI Upscale. You would only need a patch to render in lower resolution and another to uncap the FPS. Maybe that was the BOTW demo some people claim it was shown months ago.

Im not surprised about the black myth series s thing… i mean it runs like garbage on ps5… but i think it has way more to do with bad optimization than the actual hardware because lets be real… we’ve seen much bigger and more demanding games looking and running fantastic on the series s. Its definitely more of a challenge to develop for and it really comes down to how good the dev studio is. Gotta give the black myth devs some slack though because they’re not used to developing big titles like that… Also remember that devs can lie too. They could very well have some secret off-the-books deal with Sony because we all know Sony will money hat a game like nobodies business lol… like both the series s complications and the money hatting can literally BOTH be the reasons why the game isnt on xbox. The issue is numbers. Its been long enough now that a majority of people wanting to play WuKong have already done so. PC people played it on PC. PS guys played on their PS. And xbox people played it on PC, or a buddies house that has a Playstation. The sales that it would generate on Xbox will be minimal and it sure as hell wont sell any consoles for Xbox. This is why I've only started paying attention recently. One feature I would really like to see in the switch 2 is achievements/trophies. Nintendo doesn’t need to make all their games have tons of them but having something like that where third parties could use like they do on every other platform would be nice. I think the bigger tragedy is the lack of great exclusive games for the Series X/S. The first red flag was when Microsoft had to delay Halo Infinite out of the Series X/S launch in November 2020.

To be brutally honest is anyone really surprised by the fact that we now know of 2 games that have to be scrapped and then redone in order for them to even be played on both the Xbox series X/S systems?. Software. They are waiting for the last parts of the software to be finished or at least able to be released in the next 6-12 months. So that they have games to advertise when they announce the system. This is a known factor as the president stated publicly so that third parties could also know the deadline without being specific on the exact details last year. Since then I'm sure inquiry has been made and Nintendo has worked with partners to make the first year of releases planned out.

The issue is not the Xbox Series S. It's more a skill issue with optimizing games. That's what the CEO is saying. They do not have the skills to optimize it for the hardware. My question is, why haven't they hired on help or asked Xbox for assistance? The game has sold enough, so they should have money to make it happen.

I would NOT expect Half Life 3 to be released in 2025, but possibly announced. It's been almost 5 years since Alyx released, and assuming production began after Alyx wrapped up, that seems like a very short dev time for a game at the scale we expect Half Life 3 to be.

Half-life 3 was confirmed back in march because they were caught hiring a voice actor for a previous character. That’s why I thought you were calling half life, because it’s already confirmed

Here's how it will go down. Geoff Keighley will be standing slightly off stage and tells people that something is happening. The lights cut off. Valve is probably working on more half life like they did with alyx, but I doubt they'll ever actually make a mainline numbered entry, there's just to many built up expectations that'll never be fully satisfied
