Also another feature only for android users is that you can turn LDAC on. You can do this by prioritising sound quality then go to your phones Bluetooth settings, go to the XM5 settings then turn on LDAC

Must the phone have a LDAC driver to utilize it? I didn't see it in their settings on my Pixel 6.

Make sure you have developers option enabled on your android in order to change audio Codec to LDAC.

Tbh, LDAC on vs off doesnt really makes difference... Since spotify premium/youtube premium can only listen at 320kbps MAX (AAC should be enough) UNLESS you wanna use apples music for lossless music or some app with higher bitrate then LDAC is a must

I have the same problem, I even switch it in the app but there is no difference, I'm not sure if I should return the headbuds?

@@matthewsolano887 that sometimes happens to me also. I don't know If is just because in that particular time there wasn't much noise around me but still, there should be a difference. I feel that this buds and the app have a lot of glitches for a 300€ earbuds. I also thought that because I'm using it on a Samsung, maybe samsung messes with the earbuds, since they are not Samsung earbuds (it would be if not for that allergy that they don't bother to address it).

I am thinking of replacing my Powerbeats Pro with these. I have an iPhone 15 Promax. Can I use Siri through its microphone with these to go to next song, play a particular song, lower volume, etc.?

Ive these for a while... i wish they had the voice prompts like the xm4 ... soon as i out the xm4s on the goice tells me the battery life of each earbud ... the xm5 doesnt say anything

I have these earbuds & there's a very annoying touch notification tone that plays with every tap on the earbuds. I haven't found a way to disable the tone in the app. If the tone can't be disabled, that's a deal breaker for me. All the other brands of earbuds I own have an option to disable touch notification tones.

the device switching is good, i have the whiite ones they were cheaper on amazon, what i want to know though is can they be used with siri on an iphone? I did try apple earpods too, but they kept falling out my ears, the sonys dont

Can we use these while sleeping.....does the touch control gets messed up and activated while sleeping sideways on buds and using them.....i wanna buy them, and this is a deal breaker for me

They won't react to clothes or cloth, needs a finger(skin) to activate.

I just bought mine 30 minutes ago. Cannot tell the difference between noise canceling and regular mode. With bose it was day and night difference

I have a dilemma experience. With M size bud tip, I could adjust eq to my liking. However, still ambient noise to hear though ANC mode is on. When I use the function to find the right tip, the L size works great. All sound is like 95% disappeared. But abig But!, the music sound becomes ugly. The bass become boomy and I could not hear any harmony but the low frequency. Playing with EG does not help. So no choice, I have to live with M size tip to hear a good music with some bearable ambient noise.

Imagine you’re listening to a quiet song and you need to turn the volume up by tapping repeatedly on the earbuds certainly you start to hear the tapping sound disturbing the listening experience resulting in a very annoying problem, it would be a better solution if you could slide instead of tap

Air pods still better at call quality and ambient mode, noise canceling about the same and sound quality better in the Sonys. I have both that's my opinion based on my use. Love both.

Thank you very much being that I am intellectually impaired. This helped “me”tremendously. However, a better title would’ve been basic functions for your M5’s. I doubt if it has helped anybody that can actually read for themselves, as you didn’t offer anything that wasn’t blatantly obvious!

What would you suggest trying if my XM5 gets cut out like each 1-2 minutes for a fraction of a second? It happens when im walking and my phone is in my pocket (lets say left pocket), so the right ear would cut out. I tried switching phones and it didnt help, i am using already AAC codec. Really annoying thing when listening to music and given that these are really expensive earbuds, previously i owned XM3 and it worked just fine (the mic sucked though), it never cut off like this

Hi, in case you still need help, check minute 5:01. The option call “Bluetooth Connection Quality” might help you in this case. Choose “Prioritize Stable Connection” instead of “Prioritize Sound Quality”. I tried both and there is not difference at least for me in the sound quality but it is supposed to help with the connectivity.

Try adjusting the positioning of the earbud. It might be turning off because it thinks you took it out of your ear maybe?

Yeah 2 hours at a time 😅 I definitely don’t switch between these and my xm5 over the ear headphones for 12 hours a day at work and working out and playing games

Just set these up for my dad, what pain to set up. We are left with a couple of pet annoyances. The current battery charge of both earbuds is supposed to be on screen but it only shows whichever bud i take out first. The sony music center app insists on showing as this mobile instead of acknowledging by name the buds. It acknowledges our wh-1000xm4’s ok so why not the buds? These are minor though as sound still comes through both buds.
