I liked the background noise test. I would be able to here you on a call. I’ll stick with my Airpod pros for now. But I might point my android friends to this video if they ask me about earbuds like these.

Interesting video and it shows that you really put a great amount of effort in. Although myself I'm not really into sticking things in my ear I would want these if I did. A little on the pricey side but it looked like the technology was such that would protect you. You know you can't be sticking things in your ear that you don't trust.

Bought Sony WF-1000XM4 after watching a number of reviews. Returned them 2 days later. Noise cancelling or ambient sound, WTF? Living in a place where there is a fair bit of wind, all I could hear is the whistling in earbuds, unless turning up volume to max, blowing out my eardrums. All round even indoors traffic noise didn't get cancelled, birds chirping etc. For me noise cancelling as I understand is that all external noise is eliminated. That certainly is what reviewers here on YT rave about. Didn't happen with the not cheap Sony earbuds. Very disappointed.

Yeah, they were not very accurate. As I stated in my review, they cancel low frequency noise and a good deal of high frequency noise as well. If your environment is full of high frequency, like birds chirping and wind whistling, over ear headphones are your best bet but NOTHING will actually cancel all that high frequency. That's not how ANC works. The science of ANC is that it actually cancels low frequency sound waves by creating an opposite and competing sound wave. Some mid/high may be muted but not canceled. And as I stated, most of the high frequency that DOES get canceled happens due to earbuds or headphones that mechanically mute those frequencies by getting a good seal in your ears or a good seal/fit ALONG WITH thick ear padding for over ears. Hope that info helps. Also hope the explanation helps you choose a better fit for you. I'd try the Sony WH-1000XM4 over ears and see if those work for you.
