I bought this camera few days back from one of my friends. He never used it. I just wanted to see how does it work. I am sure that quality of pic could be as par at a good smart phone. However, i can consider it a collector's item.

Great video! Albeit I'm a little disheartened you didn't go through the flash settings, mainly because I had received this Camera for Christmas and it was locked to a Japanese language! Would have loved to see the English Translations of these modes haha. But your video was very helpful! Thank you!

Hi how do I get the shutter speed to increase while keeping the iso at 800 because I’m stuck at 1/30 and my shutter speed only increase when I increase the iso 😅😅 but the image always came out too bright at 2300 iso

When it comes to this affordable model, it would be better for your wallet to buy a replacement. I recommend investing in a protective plan for future accidents!

There were some other effects the camera can do like make a photo look like a painting. I can not find where that setting is. Are you familiar with these options? Thanks :-)

Any camera has the ability to capture photos for stop animation, however, I recommend getting a Panasonic camera, like the ZS70, as they have the software built into the camera already rather than putting all the photos into a program on your computer.

The connection can be tricky the first time around. Make sure your phone is not connected to your home wifi (if your doing it from home) and is connected to the Sony before returning to the App

I would say this camera would definitely struggle with that subject. I would recommend getting the Panasonic ZS200 for ease of use, great tracking and awesome photos/videos

No, there is no microphone port with this camera. If you would like better audio than the built in mic, you will have to use an external recorder and merge them in post.

Unfortunately the app does not allow wireless transfer of a video yet. So you will need to use an SD card reader to transfer to your computer

I would say any point and shoot is not going to get you the widest angle for real estate or property photography. I would recommend getting an inexpensive mirrorless crop sensor camera with a lens that ranges 10-15mm.

What are the best settings to have on here for doing youtube videos? Are they the same settings that you have gone through? I also find the sound to be quite tinny and echoey on my phone, no matter what room of the house I'm in, is there anything that can help with the sound? Thanks

I would say for KZbin Videos, start in Auto and see where it struggles for you. As for audio, because this camera does not have the ability to have an external mic, it will be very tricky to get rid of the echo. The only way to control that is controlling your environment, by adding, rugs, furniture, acoustic paneling or blankets, anything to keep sound from bouncing from walls and ceilings. Otherwise, you may need to look at a camera that offers a mic option.

You can record audio through any recorder and a lav mic or a zoom h1n and just use it as a mic.

Thanks very much Heather. I just purchased the WX350 and it's not bad. Should I leave the auto slow shutter 'on' or 'off'? IN the record settings, there are some terms I'm unfamiliar with, 'FX' 'FH' and 'PS'. I would like to use the best quality, yet noticed that FX cannot record to DVD disc nor can PS. That leaves me with the only option of FH which has a relatively slow frame rate. So, i cannot record to DVD disc other than blue ray for FX and PS, correct? If you could clarify these details, i would very much appreciate it. By the way, your presentation is one of the finest for digital photography adjoined to the Sony cyber shot 350.

Happy to help! I would keep the auto slow shutter on to help in low light areas. As for the FX, FH and PS, you are not alone! While there isn’t much in camera to explain them, I can tell you that PS will give you the best quality, FX will give you normal quality and FH will give you standard quality video. Keep in mind, you probably won’t be burning these to DVD as discs are finding their way to becoming obsolete, so I would record on PS.

@@Shutterbug101 Thank you very much Heather. Actually, at times I still burn to DVD; not too much. I'll set at PS in which I have no idea, none what 'PS', 'FH', or 'FX' stand for. I took some video in all formats and really could not notice any difference other than the bit rate: FH 16010 kpbs FX-21680kbps PS 25462kbps. (1.) PS- 1920X1080 59 fps. (2.) FX-1920X1080 29FPS (3.) FH-1920X1080 29FPS. Would PS give me better video for fast moving objects or would FH and FX @30fps be better?

For fast moving subjects, you really want to use 60p. The FX, FH, and PS, as far as I know, aren’t abbreviations for anything. Which of course makes it even more confusing to remember the difference!

I just picked up a WX300 at a garage sale. I like its capability as a still camera. And that optical zoom is bodacious. However, the HD video kind of sucks. Unexpectedly fuzzy. I was hoping for sharper imagery. But for only $25, I can't kick.

On this camera, the video's are limited to about 30 min at a time. To get the videos on your phone, as of now, you need to put them on your computer and then to your phone. It is a very basic model point and shoot.
