No it would not. You have to match the main boards exactly.

Hello how are you? I have a sony xbr-65x900b when I bought the tv it had sound no backlights. I changed the power supply board now it has backlight sound but no picture any suggestions?

Sorry that doesn't really make sense and I am not sure what could be causing this. It is possible that someone else messed around with the TV before giving it to you and disconnected things. I recommend checking the entire TV and reconnecting all ribbons to make sure they are properly seated.

Im sorry I don't have a good answer for you. Lift the bottom up and wiggle the top. If I can make a video on this in the future I will but haven't had one of these come in the shop recently. As soon as one does I will try and make a video on it.

When requesting help, please make sure to provide the model number of the TV. It is very difficult to help otherwise. As for a generic troubleshooting, grey screen could be a bad screen, bad T-con or bad mainboard.

@@NicksTVRepair sony bravia kdl46ex500 ... it turns on there is backlight but no pic just white ..it was working then just kinda cubed away to a white screen..you can hear sound ?? I dont know if that helps ..I kinda thought it might be t con board but not sure

That could be T-con, it could be mainboard, or panel. I don't know unfortunately, I am not very familiar with this model. I would advise giving the T-con a try first, then the mainboard, but make sure you buy replacements from a seller that allows returns just in case. If it's a bad panel then it won't be worth fixing, unfortunately.
