Like you I'm well excited to get a look at this beautiful device. It's has been a long since SONY proposed a complete phone for everycustumer, embrassing their boxy shape which is very SONY after all. I do love this one! can't wait to try it. Bigger Battery 4000 mAh, 90hz Display, The ON/OFF button along side the fingerprint, 3.5 Headphone Jack is back. The only thing I cross my finger for is the camera and the image processing, the innovative 20fps AF/AE sensor should do the work but Sony's smartphone cameras lately are getting so much critics and to be honest I left sony devices for the same reason (4 of my last 5 smartphones where sony). On the other hand, I think they should Improve the UI aswell, there's much more android features i found on Xiaomi, Oneplus, huawei and even Motorolla... The thing is Sony smartphones should be approached as more like dedicated cameras other than smartphones. With basic knowledge of photography and manual mode you can shoot great pictures with natural colors even with models like XZ1/XZ2

X P E R I A is back in the game! I've been waiting to get a Sony phone again the time has come. Sony improved on everything from Photography, Audio, Video, Gaming and more. 20fps burst shooting like my Sony RX100-VII this will make everyday Photography more fun. Tracking capabilities will brilliant especially Sony Eye AF which is superior. Nice to have a dedicated Photography app to manually adjust the Camera settings which is great. 360 Audio and all the other improvements in the sound department is a nice addition. 4K OLED will be nice for content and overall use. Glad no hole punch just nice trimmed bezels and the return of the jack.

Actually the iPhone 5 design was continuation from iPhone 4. And iPhone 4 design was actually from Sony. So therefore the design of xperia 1II is originally from Sony, and not from iPhone 5 concept.

Is there any word if they improved the fingerprint scanner? Mark 1 scanner got a lot of criticism from users. And with Android 10 it doesn't even have face unlock anymore... I really want this phone but I'm worried about inconvenience compared to other brands.

I think this is the first Sony phone surely can compete with the real big boys from the beautiful design and to its new camera configuration. To be honest this is the first Sony phone that I like so much. The naming is very good for marketing strategy. Yes, Sony needs a very clever marketing strategy to sell this beautiful phone. Thanks for this review. My last Xperia was the Xperia Z3 Compact - super. My devices have mainly been sony-ericsson or sony over the years. (Xperia S, T, Z1c, Z3c). I am really excited for this one - I think I will have one if it 'feels right' in the hand. loving the look of the camera and sound! (not bothered about the headphone socket). Also the fact that Sony keep the shutter button! I'm also out of contract (UK) so eligible for an 'upgrade/24month service. plus it's so slim!dual sim also important for me.

All round ticks all the boxes and a few things that are just awesome like the return of the headphone jack, front facing speakers and dual sim. I just don't get why they have to try sell fake 90hrz display. Or as they call it 90hrz like. It's deceiving. Sure explain the tech you use but don't pretend to be 90hrz. Still worried about their cameras though. 3x optical is no longer flagship. It's pretty average for 2019. They emphasize a lot about all the manual controls but that just tells me the automatic picture quality will probably again not be on par with others mobiles with good photo capability. I think the reality is most photos are taken on automode and in seconds. Looking forward to see someone try some night shots and a maybe a couple of astro shots. Lastly love how these companies all market 5G as a must have when most of us probably won't see a network for years that is really widespread 5G capable. And then some doesn't even include mm wave

According to GSM Arena, the storage used for the 1 Mark 2 is UFS 2.1 for some reason. If that is the case then would be a shame to be using slow storage on their flagship device.

From the information available on the Xperia 1 II... it’s not actually a 90hz display it’s just optimised to look and feel a lot smoother and faster just like a 90hz... we’ll have to wait and see if it makes a difference 🤷🏻‍♂️👍

One thing that would make me nervous buying this phone is the battery... My XZ Premium can only achieve 2.5 hours screen on time before it dies. That has been the case since day one. It has a 4K LCD screen but I only use it in 1080p FullHD resolution and at 50% brightness. I only use KZbin and internet browsing. I had to buy an external power bank because it doesn't last a day. It is the same for my friend who also bought rhe same phone.

Really wish it didn’t have the 4k display; Thats gonna slaughter battery life so bad, and there’s no benefit to it over 1080/1440p on that small of a display (unless there’s an option to change down to 1080p, haven’t seen if there is or not). Great phone otherwise though. I’ve wanted a good sony phone for a looong time, but all they do is put out mediocre mid range phones. The vertical camera layout is also terrible looking; I can’t agree with you that it looks good, I think horizontal, centered, would be FAR better looking. Sony needs to focus on putting their camera technology in their phones, hopefully this is the first of many more impressive “flagship” phones. Sony could DOMINATE the android market if they just focused on getting their great display, camera and speaker/audio teams together in one room.

Can't really compare as the Note 10 is last year's flagship with the older Snapdragon 855 processor. The Sony Xperia 1II will have the latest Snapdragon 865 processor... hope that helps. 👍

@@peterdurum434 OnePlus' Oxygen OS software experience is unmatched by anyone including stock Android. iPhones are the video camera king thanks to the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. Samsung has been the best bang for buck flagship (that was until they started doing very Apple things with the Note 10 and S20). Based on what I've seen Sony's utilization of smartphone cameras are unlikely to surpass Google with picture processing or Apple with video. It has been hard to see the point of getting a Sony smartphone for the longest time when other options in the same price range have regularly been better. Not to mention OnePlus has been such a disrupter in the smartphone market that with all these other options Sony has to work REALLY HARD to make it's phone offerings stand out.

And knowing that sony is the first mobile phone to have the HFR when they made the 1000fps.

Reading more into it, it lose 1080p@960fps, but we get 1080@120fps and 20fps camera burst shot. We couldn't put our slow motion as a live wallpaper anyways.

@@AndreiSmantana @Arek SEO That's why i stick with them...add over that is quality sincerely....I've dropped my Xperia 1 and Z2 a shit ton of times from "frightening" hights (with a TPU case + glass screen protector) and they got 0 damage, you drop an iPhone or Samsung even with a cover....the % to crack are higher...idk man they just make good phones, even if they don't go with 12GB of RAM like Samsung, the OS is so nicely tinkered that 8GB is enough for games, media, multy-tasking etc PS: keep up the good work, and best of luck ;)

Google Sony Xperia 1 mark 2 90hz display. The feature is meant to feel like a 90hz display, it’s not actually 90hz.
