@stanleyhan54654 жыл бұрын
Great video. Great capabilities in a camera not found on others. This video for people who knows about cameras and photography. For those who are asking for specs comparison or comparing with other phones, there are other videos out there. This phone has features that no other phones has. For example it can shoot 20fps and Eye focus (inclduing animal eye). This allows you to take moving or sports picture with great focus and 20 frames per second and the pictures will be sharp. You will never miss a moment. This is because this 1 ii uses a new dual pixel autofocus sensor (even though it's only 12 MPa). You cannot do this with samsung, apple or others. All other phones just uses the older technology dual phase AF sensors. Samsung S20 ultra has 108Mpa which is good if you want to take static pictures of your food, scenery, etc. But it also suffers from poor autofocus where your shots will be blurry. If you know about photography, this phone is for you.

I’m really interested in seeing how what Sony can do in terms of dynamic range and how it handles contrasting scenes ( quite a few reviewers mentioned that highlights get blown out quite often. I’m also interested in how it does in terms of details, I’m a big fan of the natural approach they are taking with minimal computerisation, so it would be great to see how human skin looks, as many phones just blur it out. And of course your workflow with this phone and how you envision it’s going to change after Sony gets the raw support. Once again thank you for the video and keep up the good work!

I think a camera comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of the Sony Experia 1 ii vs apple/google/samsung would be nice to see. All these other companies have phones that are heavy in computational photography so things like HDR and high dynamic range situations look really good. However, the new Experia 1 ii seems to be a throwback to a traditional camera experience. Things like high FPS, fast autofocus, and long exposures are the hallmarks of that experience. Before last year, Sony's Mobile Imaging Division is barely helped by their proper Sony Alpha Division, yet their cameras always have been keeping up with the competition. Last year was the first try of their collaboration, and it was successful for the most part. This year, they just brought things up even further and we can see the pay-off with this phenomenal camera setup. Forget the media who knows nothing about photography than just merely clicking the shutter button. The professional photographers themselves are far more impressed than anyone else, and definitely they're the ones who should be trusted when it comes to reviewing this phone's camera capabilities and not those biased and paid platforms.

Their Auto Mode is set to deliver the same natural images as they do on the Photo Pro app, but with all settings controlled automatically by the phone. Samsung, Google and Apple basically taught everyone to be lazy mofos and made them believe that overprocessed images always look better. Worst yet, they compare their precious phones to an A7III and concludes that their phones are better just because of better dynamic range (which is mostly done by software enhancement and not the camera's true potential). You know who's talking bullshit when a real photographer highly praises this phone's imaging capabilities while the popular media talks crap about it.

Phone is great, but I've seen noticeable pin cushion distortion on GSMarena's camera samples of the main lens and also noticeable on DPreviews's sample gallery. It's not super noticeable in normal/close up shots, but once you know it's there, it definitely nags at you. The issue here is that Sony went with an equivalent 24mm on the main lens (as opposed to 26mm on the previous generation). The distortion is on the main lens and I think it comes from the lens itself, but the 24mm focal length definitely doesn't help the situation. It's so bad that you can see the edge of buildings bulged as a bow. The problem is that Sony has distortion correction only on the ultra wide lens, and not on the main one in the camera settings, so there is no way to circumvent this thing, save for post processing. Perhaps something to look at in your comparison video would be distortion of building edges vs other flagships.

Dpreview. Ahahahahah what a twat fest of a page. Full of fan boys and comments of gas syndrome kids. My camera is bigger than yours blah blah blah. Everyone forgets about the ergonomics of the camera phone. Everyone's just looking for bragging rights of I have the best camera. Which if course is completely subjective. Every flagship phone this year and last year takes great photos. Stop pulling hairs and pick something that is comfortable and a joy to use which excites you and gives you enjoyment. Let's be honest, if your going to be staring at an edge of a picture taken on a cellphone you really should not be buying a phone for photos. Idiots......

Love to see it compared to iPhone 11 pro max especially for video, Huawei P40 pro, S20 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. Also any comparison between the Sony pro app Vs something like Filmic Pro would be really interesting. Thank you for the review.

nice that you took the time to give this level of analysis for a smartphone camera. Maybe you can install the Google camera app on this and do some side by side shooting and compare results.

This is the video that I have been waiting for! Thanks a lot! Now if Sony can make all their cameras full touch screen like this... That 70mm looks nice though I wish you could have taken a photo of a person and show us if there is a natural depth of field (I assume the sensor is much larger than other smartphones?)

it has nightscene detection in the auto mode and in the stockcamera app and uses a longer exposure there so it does have some kind of nightmode. it just does not make daylight from a nightscene what google does.

I'd like to see a comparison with the huawei P30 pro I really loved the camera in there, my mom has it, I was able to shoot some really cool images with that phone, I thought it was better than the xperia 1 I own, at least in terms of telephoto shooting. By the way do you know if the photo pro app will be available for the xperia 1? It seems really cool.

Supposedly the phone can be used as a screen for cameras like the A7riii, with touchscreen control and functionality. Can this be showcased?
@ziginox4 жыл бұрын
No point, it's the exact same as with any other Android phone. The only exception with Sony phones is, you get a physical shutter button, and the two-stage press works on it. Nothing new about that, though. My Z5 and XZ2 both have it as well.
