I can sum up the 1mk6 pretty quickly as i've been using mine for a week now. Cameras are basically the same as the 1mk5. auto mode is better on the 1mk6. other than that, I've no issues with video being lumped into a single app. makes it easier to shoot video and quickly switch over to pro mode without having to switch apps conveniently. As the for rest of the phone. it's damn near perfect. battery life is amazing. the first phone i've ever owned that gets me two full days. the screen loses 4k, but picks up a generally more usable aspect ratio and brightness that is needed her in sunny florida. performance wise it's been sublime. i have no regrets.

@@calangel yes i see the phone on Wonda Mobile for £1045 but the trouble is you only get a one year guarantee and the hassle of sending it back if it goes wrong,but with Amazon UK you get a three year guarantee so I'll wait for the price drop in a few months time because im not that desperate for it because my mk 4 is still a very good phone,who knows i might even wait for the mk7.

Excellent review. From what I can gather, these Sony Xperia cameras are really for the manual user experience and that is possibly where they perform better than other smartphones. I don't think That the Xperia automatic modes are well known for being as good as the other mainstream phones which use HDR processing more aggressively I think. So I would really like to see a comparison with the Sony and the other flagships and how do you think it compares to, for example a Google pixel in the photos department. Much appreciated. Thank you

recommend to try HDR HLG for video recording . It is hidden weapon of Xperia ;)

@@bibinsaju4652 I dont know i 1 III had this option, but mine 1 V has in setting option to choose recording in HLG HDR. Video Pro app needs to be used, not the basic one.
