M4 seems to have a nicer panel but I think the z1 is quicker on average not bad for an older phone I would probably go for the z1 compact over both even the z3 compact because that looks too plasticky to me

I had Xperia Z1 for 1,5 year. I sold it. M4 Aqua will be good to replace Z1? I have option to buy it slightly cheaper than Z1. I wanted to buy Z3 Compact but I just don't have money for it. M4 Aqua just came up and I see that it's very interesting phone - design, waterproof. Storage it's not the problem - I'm not playing on phone, I'm not using social media apps. Tech Trinkets Is it good idea to buy M4 Aqua as a replacement for my already sold Z1? I was modding Z1 and I want to do this also on M4 but so far, this phone doesn't have even a root. Tech Trinkets I want to buy it from carrier - monthly paid. There's no Z2, but there's Z3 - it cost twice as M4 Aqua. As I said. Storage is no problem. The biggest problem is modding. I was always modding my phones(X10 Mini Pro, Arc S, Neo V, Xperia P, Xperia S, Z1). S615 is a new chipset and there's no root. This is the only thing that I'm afraid. Thanks for reply!

I got both phones and I think Z1 is much better. con M4: Low Storage, Bad processor, camera Take Time to become good quality, Display isnt that good

+HiragaSaito sama. Trust me it doesn't matter.. I have a galaxy note 1 and wanted to change it so bought a xperia z3 but I got disappointed, the difference in display quality is way too much.. I can definitely say that Samsung makes phones with a better quality based on display, sound etc. I'm thinking to sell it and try a G3.

+HiragaSaito sama. It's not the angles as they are quite good, it's the screen itself the colors are so washed out and that's what i hate. A friend of mine has a z2 and it has a better screen so does the M4.

Sanjeel Chettri I can help you with that. No, the bugs have not yet being taken care of... 5.1 will come soon and it will hopefully fix everything... and i think that 4.4.4 is the king when it comes to performance... It feels a little bit faster

It does overheat if you're using it when charging or doing something like heavy gaming for long time But phone its waterproof so if it heats up you just throw it in some water and it cool down very quickly I have this phone now for about half a year and it didn't heat up to the ponit were it should turn off automatically because of overheating ( which my previous Xperia Z did 😂) I think that overheating is not an issue with this phone Only issue i have is low storage because in my country was only 8 gb model available but that will be fixed with marshmallow update and its flex storage feature If you can buy M4 Aqua I think you should get it

+Eduardo De La Cruz Roque OP is kinda right, but bear in mind that M4A got in theory a more powerful CPU and also is natively made for Lollipop. The only advantage I see for the Z1 is the camera, unless you are a graphic designer you should go for a M4A, also it is more cheaper.
