Thank you, it worked, it looks that I was not careful enough and I damaged the screen, the touch does not not respond properly. When you insert the card to remove the display, you should insert it less than a millimeter, otherwise you will damage the screen. Thanks for letting me recover my info!!!

I just wanted to say thanks a ton for making this video. The local phone repair shop does not service Sony phones, so I decided to take this on myself. It was a bit scary, but I bought parts and tools, and successfully replaced the USB-C port and the phone works great. Removing the rear camera bracket definitely required a bit more fiddling than what it shows in the video, but ultimately it worked out well. For some reason I was missing a couple of plastic brackets, notably the USB-C cable bracket. I'm concerned that it will come unplugged by itself over time as a result, but at least if it does, I now know how to fix it! I hope someday Sony starts making phones this size again, usable by one hand. But, it's great to know there are resources out there to help us repair phones ourselves. Thanks again.

Top Video, hat alles perfekt geklappt. Tipp für alle, die auch diese Reparatur vornehmen wollen: Kauft euch eine originale Ladebuchse (9€), da mit dieser der Stecker ordentlich auf der Handyplatine verrastet werden kann. Die alternative Ladebuchse (7,50€) konnte nicht verrastet werden, des Weiteren löste sich die Buchse von der biegsamen Platine, da die Lötstelle nicht ordentlich ausgeführt wurde.

Well damn this is a crystal clear tut on how to change the charging port, thanks.. I hope I don't have to do this.. My XZ1 turned itself off today and won't come back on, no lights, sounds, vibes, nothing.. the battery was low when it died so I'm hoping that's all it is.. But at the moment the charger which is in pretty perfect condition isn't charging it..

I am in the same position. My battery was about 3% when i plugged the phone to a charger...and it did't charge. Did you solve the problem?

thnx for the video, it fixed my XZ1, charging port was disconnected from the motherboard because of the drop..

I had the same issue. Charging port connector simply disconnected after falling to floor. Thank you.

Hi i have an xperia XZ1 and i was wondering can a damaged Charging Port cause the phone to charge slower? I mean i expect that if the Charging Port is damaged the phone will completely stop charging but in my case the phone is still charging but it is a lot slower than before. Is it possible that the problem is the Charging Port or should i look elsewhere for the problem?

Hi Wit Rigs, Please tell me.. Have you ever tried the power delivery test to the Sony xperia XZ1 on the same watt charging tes, 18watt PD? if yes, Does the XZ1 support power delivery even though the charging feature only reaches 18watt QC 3?

Tried different USB cables and diffetent computers with different OSs, even hard resetted the phone. Tried enabling and disabling USB debugging in developers mode. Still no luck...

Instead of doing it myself, i've send the sony to an repair shop.. now that i've got it back its fixed but i cant use my camera anymore.. it says 'unknown error' is this something that could be caused by this repair?

Turns out the camera wire is on the underside of the motherboard and is glued to the phone case, so when you lift up the motherboard it will disconnect itself.
