Great review, but i have to say i have seen several that came with ear buds or ear phones in the box. I guess it depends on the region and retailer, you should also update camera software. There's a new camera software update that changes the entire ui and performance, it is no longer a bit slow when starting up the camera and processing images, it improves the camera performance overall. The display is the best display out there and the camera is as well, i have seen enough comparisons to say this.

I find it sort of inconvenient for you giving a half assed battery life aspect you said the 24 hour thing was standby and rest was basically decent in your opinion. here's a tip when you fully charge the phone do something for about an hour the go to settings then battery it gives an direct estimate time it's useful for people to know actual amount of time estimates vs "it's decent" decent to me would mean able to use my phone extensively almost like a tablet like 3 hours of spotty use and forget to charge it and the next day still have like 60%. know what I mean?

I got my Xperia Z5 Premium about two weeks ago and I love this phone, the premium feel of it, screen, camera, performance, hands down my favorite phone till date, my phones in last 2 years: iPhone 6 plus lumia 1020, flex 2, HTC m8, note edge, and Xperia z3, good job Sony, one complain is the headphone output, it totally makes my Weston w40 sound like Wallmart generic brand so I've gotten my self ak240 for music, iPhone and Samsung got Sony beat in that dept, outside of that a++ and would highly recommend this phone to anyone.

Oh! I was thinking on the Nexus 6p and Z5. I felt in love with the 6p to be honest with you but one thing I do not like about is their services! I ordered the product (128gb variant) from google play store a month ago and they've replied me that the product will be shipped on the midst of December and I was so frustrated. Meanwhile I managed to test the z5, say no more the phone is a beast! Some of them people act like the camera of z series sucks! It is on par with the samsung s6 and better than iPhone 6s imo. Can't wait to have my baby!!!! Sony really did great this year.

Best review I've seen to this date and I believe I've seen most of them. What I do want to point out though is that, when viewing pictures, the pictures take a second to load to 4K resolution so swiping through them as fast as you did didn't give them enough time to get to that resolution. Still an awesome and well put together review!

I bought a Z5 Premium (dual sim) and came with the Fast charger and a high quality headphones (not the Hi-res) so it depends the region you are in, or probably the first batch of the Z5 premium was missing those accessories!

I knew about the omission of the fast charger (shame but that's how it is...) but the word was that the Z5 Premium was supposed to come with the premium earbuds (Sony MDR-NC750) in the box. These are the earbuds that work with the built-in Digital Noise Cancellation in the Sony Xperia phones, without the need of an external power source (i.e. battery) like other active noise cancelling headphones. Some of Sony's decisions have been really confusing and frustrating. Everyone who knows the industry knows that their smartphone division is struggling for profitability. But omitting basic accessories or providing ones that don't fully utilise the devices' capabilities is a sure-fire way to anger your customers. Especially when these devices have stratospheric prices. If you're charging a premium price your whole bundle has to be reflective of that. Otherwise you cannot expect to turn your business around. If saving a few bucks here and there in the package (especially in the case of the quick charger, or lack there of) is going to cost notable reputational damage, why do it. Some might argue that most other phones that have Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology also don't come with a compatible charger in the box but surely not many of those cost as much as the Sony Z5 series. I see this as a lost opportunity on Sony's behalf. An opportunity to remind people that Sony was a premium brand that gave good value to its customers. What a pity.

Hi Sir, question. does your z5 premium upper back panel (near the camera) warms/heats up when you turn on the phone? and does it easily warms up when you use it for simple tasks like messages, music, picture galleries, FB, messenger, etc? because mine does. well, it doesnt get TOO hot, but it feels disturbingly warm most of the time.

As far as the sound loudness is concerned? Did you toggle on clear audio + setting in the audio settings? If not? I recommend you do. It will boost audio almost 100%

probably because the phone comes with 32gb of internal stoage, which for a phone is pretty decent.

+nabagaca true but for someone who watches movies and tv shows a lot and needs them downloaded because wifi isn't always available it's not a lot. Also with all that 4K video and high Mp pictures you're going to fill that up pretty quick. Personally I've already filled one 64GB card up and now I've put in a new 128 card. It's what I love about these phones.

+Sachin Varma Well I don't know all of those, but I can answer the one I do know. 1. yes, it has stereo speakers 2. I dunno 3. I would say it depends on if you use it or not. Just sitting there, probably won't get hot. If you wanna play a while charging, it might 4. I would say the 6s+ is a little louder than the Z5P, but I dunno how either one compares to the Z2. Keep in mind though that front facing speakers don't necessarily need to be louder, since they point at you 5. I dunno 6. That is a feature that is built into android natively, so I would imagine yes

I called T mobile and went there personally just in case... First the guy on the phone said he didn't know of any Sony Xperia coming to Tmobile... Then I went to T Mobile and asked the manager... He said "Oh yes the Sony Z5, I seen the videos online and sorry but we won't be carrying it this time"... I was so disappointed when he said that... I don't buy unlocked phones from Asia so... the Xperia z5 comes with fast charger and earphones (hi-res audio) the problem with most of them is they buy it from a cheap vendor or order it online for a substantially lower price causing the issue of product differences

there was a set of headphones in the box for me (in the UK on o2 network) although didn't come with ANY charger (this is an o2 specific thing apparently) agree with all points in this review, thumbs up! :)
