Sony ZV-E1 Review - The Dream Content Creation Camera!

I shoot on a A7SIII and A7IV and to me this looks like the A7C and A7SIII had a baby. It looks like a great camera but definitely not worth selling any of my bodies for this. I would at any time recommend this for someone that wants to start out in the full-frame world as a videographer - ABSOLUTELY!

I have the ZVE1 now for a few weeks and I really love this small cam beast 😍 by the way a perfect b-cam for my bigger Fx6 😅 and the quality is awesome

I’m scared about the one SD card slot! Crazy you only shoot with one - what is your answer/workaround for corrupt SDs on paid shoots 😯!!! I am a photographer (a7iii and A7iv) looking to get into hybrid work! I currently only photograph weddings, but would love to add 3/4minute highlight video reels… this looks like the answer! But one SD card slot 😬

Damn, that new active stab algorithm had me about to sell my A7iv for an A7rv. Kinda torn between getting an fx3 or a zve1 and fx30 combo. When I need a serious dedicated A cam (which isn’t often) I can use the fx30, and when I’m just traveling about looking to collect a bunch of clips for a reel or Tik tok, I have the zve1. Both cases I have my a7iv as B cam and for photos. I like this idea more than a single FX3, because of the extra features. The idea of super steady handheld shots with my 14mm GM, which would be around 18mm in dynamic stab, is really exciting to me. Would save me buying a mini gimble, and the hassle of always having to set it up and balancing and calibrating it.

this camera and 14mm lens would be killer. I think it just comes to do you need to film professional videos longer than 30mins, if not I would pick this camera every day of the week.

I can film longer form stuff with my A7iv, set it up on a tripod and leave it and walk around getting moving b cam clips with the zve1 since the stabilization is so much better. 30 minute record limit seems doable, not ideal but I can make that work. It’s the hearsay of people having 5-10 minutes before overheating at the Sony Camera Camp that really has me worried.

120 with a firmware update supposedly mainly because that may cause overheating

Will this be worth upgrading from the a6400 that I currently have? I'm struggling to choose between the zv-e1 & a7siii/fx3 (these 2 are just out of budget..)

Depends on how you plan to use it. I have the A7SIII and and ZV1. Planning to sell both for the ZVe1 because it has features of both of these cameras. I'm a vlogger so I don't imagine having the camera on for more than 5-15minutes at a time so no overheating issues. And to answer your questions, yes the zve1 is an upgrade. All of the A6xxx series are ancient.

It’s not amazing. The OIS is not good. When you on the active stabilisation it crops the image significantly.

just use the 1.1x mode it’s great this is good as it will never produce ibis wobbles shown on wider lenses
