Brilliant as usual - in style, editing and content!! It's great to be so attached to a camera that is affordable for so many people. With countless affordable lenses too this camera really is a pocket rocket. I just dug out an old Canon 17-40mm L lens that I haven't used since moving to Sony about 3 years ago. I stuck it on the ZV-E10 with a Sigma adapter and what great results (photography). I appreciate the continuous autofocus for video won't work but as a C camera I can just set up in manual focus. I bought the smallrig cage for this camera too and makes the grip far more comfortable to use. Mark Bennett and you really have tested this camera brilliantly. Positive and realistic reviews.

I have had mine for about a year or so because I had big plans but then life got in the way. However, I am now working to learn more about the camera so I can start running wild. I just bought a whole set of Sigma lenses for it too. I plan on getting a gimbal as well. Thanks for this review Joe - truly great timing as we are looking to get our first mirrorless camera soon. We primarily make travel videos and solely rely on a GoPro 10 and iPhone 12 Pro, but would love something for vlogging. I agree, would love to find a camera around this price point that could handle 60 frames, but I suppose we can still get those slo-mo shots on the GoPro for now. I am headed over to watch your other videos on this camera, but will ask this directly (even though it will probably be answered in the lenses video): would you recommend not bothering with the 16-50mm kit lens and just buy the body only? I know it's only $100 extra for the kit lens at this time, but if it would rarely be used, I would rather put that money towards some other recommended lenses...especially a wide angle like you mentioned. Thanks again for all the info!

Hey Joakim, yes I agree, it’s gotten a lot of bad press. But I still love it and think it’s a great camera for people who are under $1000 budget. With that said are you still planning on picking up the FX 30?

bro awesome intro, The ZVE-10 is what got me to switch to Sony. I was running a Canon R and SL2. I decided to switch it to the ZVe-10 for 4k and no time limit. It surprised me so much that i ended up selling all my canon gear and picked up the A7IV. The ZVE10 is my B cam and a webcam (rokinon 12mm F2). It may become my C cam if i pick up the FX30, but that may not be for a bit... I haven't watched you in a bit, but i remember watching your vids when you first got it. Glad I found you again.

man, honestly, i feel your videos are very pragmatic and you see from the perspective of the beginner (which i am). I've always wanted to learn videography but i can't afford a more expensive setup at this point in time and i don't aim for a full frame just yet as i want to learn the techniques and basics before i even attempt at it and your videos truly help me. I have the ZV-E10 and a sigma 16mm and 30mm lenses (yes i got both haha). It started with me playing around with my sister's A6000 camera which she doesn't use anymore because she went to a point and shoot model, which i mean , a phone (iPhone) but to me, i wanted to learn the manual before i can learn the auto haha. Initially i did use my phone as a webcam (android - ivcam and the likes) and got a bit of an idea for 3-point lighting but it became a goal to learn even more and while i did it to create a video podcast with some friends , i started nursing the idea of doing really "for me" short films and as i was trying to save up for the A6400 , i saw the ZV-E10 and while there are definite flaws, I feel it is a good starting point for me to learn more. My main goal later on, is to not only do some "student" level short films but also try to dive into music videos and charge local acts a cheaper rate than a more professional one. At least, in a way, to help them out. I figured ,life is short, so might as well learn and if i died trying to learn a new skill, at least, i can be happy that I did have an attempt. I have subscribed to learn more from channels like yours but you're definitely my go to for ZV-E10.

I got the A6600 but ordered the ZV E10 yesterday as a second camera. Your videos are getting better and better! Love your Hooks and your intros. The ZV-E10 is really a little vlogging beast and with the Zhiyun Crane M3 is extremely useful.

@@dr.s5688 if you are doing photography in bright daylight maybe. But I do Photography and Videography and almost never use the EVF. So I personally would go with the ZV-E10. But wait for today because Sony is announcing a new ZV Camera today. I think it will be the ZV-2 but could also be the ZV-E11. The ZV-E10 is much lighter as the a6400 and it‘s easier with the flipscreen to shoot in portrait mode. And you don‘t have to relocate the microphone on the ZV-E10

I love my ZVE10 with the new PZ10-20mm F4 wide angle lens. It’s the perfect match! This combination is so light and very efficient for video shooting. Although is F4 but the image quality out from this lens and camera is astonishing! Low light performance is good!

That’s a great setup, perfect for vlog and run and fun. The F4 may inhibit lowlight shots but it doesn’t sound like your using it for that. Are you pro or hobbyist? Or somewhere in between?

Excellent video, I love my ZVE-10! Being a small channel doing tech/audio reviews, I'm having a hard time with smooth broll. I have the Crane M3 and I'm just not very good with it. I have the kit lens and Sigma f1.4 16m. I'm trying simple tabletop broll, you think the kit lens will suffice better? The sigma is almost too wide even with the crop at times. Rolling shutter is a definite distraction. Keep up the great content!

Hey Joe! You're the best (and maybe the only) person who makes content for this camera in PRACTICAL use. Zv e10 seems great but the stab is terrible but I think I can get over that if I plan better. I have made videos since 2010 but have only took it real serious over the last couple years. I just think it is time to move up from action cams for the most part. I would still use those when I am out geocaching and fishing but use the zv e10 for stuff I do during my lunch time.

Im seriously considering this as a new camera for my cooking channel (not this one heh). I'll be mostly using it on a tripod or in a fixed position nearly 95% of the time. Beyond that I'll have it on a gimble for smooth floating by the side shots of foods. This video has been very helpful for me. thank you for taking the time to make this video for people like me who want to know more about a product, good or bad, without having to buy it first and discover they would love or hate it.

Zv-e10 is easily best value for money right now. Getting in to the e mount game was never so cheap. Zv-10 + sigma 16mm is an amazing kit for under 1000$

That’s a great point. A lot of people don’t have the budget for the FX 30. Then the ZVE 10 is the perfect runner-up. There are so many when’s is to choose from just like you said. How long have you owned it?

I have watched so many of your videos, so thanks for all of your hard work in creating them. I decided on this camera, and it's being delivered tomorrow, but one thing I am unsure about is mixing 25fps with slow motion. I am a complete novice with this, but was under the impression that it had to be 50 or 100 for slow motion in the UK (or something multiplied by 25). Or won't it matter? I intend to shoot a lot of slow motion so don't want to see parts of a video look fine in 25, but it fails in the parts using slow motion in 60fps... when watching it on a TV. I almost forgot, will there be a noticeable difference between 4k 25fps and slow motion shot in 1080p when both are used in the same output video? Thanks 🙂

Ir surprised me what you said about the different look on the a7III and the ZVE10 because u noticed too! I don’t understand why as the only difference should be the crop factor and maybe a bit of the bokeh of a ff camera but I notice the colors and softness is different too

I've watched a few of your videos on the ZV-E10, the ZV1, and the ZV1F. I feel a bit more undecided after each video. I am a djembe player with a small studio. I plan to do mostly inside recordings (from a tripod), either me sitting drumming or me sitting narrating my favorite children's books. I will also do some outside music recordings, but same physical setup...me sitting, playing my drum. I am not an experienced photographer or filmmaker. Trying to keep it simple, and still get the best images and sound. I would like to be able to start recording from a remote. Recommendations?

Have you ever thought about getting a lens that can go on top of the kit lens - such as: wide angle and macro lens Uskeyvision 18 mm? I've been looking for a high quality simple camera to use for vlogging/zoom, and really think this one might be it. Unfortunately I'm moving from Samsungs NX1/NX500 CSC systems, which were amazing cameras, and before their time. I love your leveled review of this. Got a question for you though. As far as I know the ZV-E10 are the only system cameras that does both clean HDMI out and USB -Webcam out? I know of plenty of cameras that does HDMI clean out nowadays, and some like the dji Action/Heroes that does USB webcam out.. Is this the perfect middle ground that does both, or are there any other options. (Including more expensive Sony cameras)?

How do u get so smooth 4k 25p video? I'm new to zv e10 with 11mm f1.8 lens but I've noticed that when I move my cam left and right I will see the trees became blur and distracting. Is that called rolling shutter?I have set ISO, Shutter speed and aperture nicely. Is it because i need a gimbal? I know if using 1080p 60fps will solve but noticed yours is 4k. Pls advice. Tq

Great video and it has me intrigued! I’ve been using the ZV1 for golf vlogs (every shot on course). I have to turn it off after shots bc of battery concerns and then it’s so hard to tell when it’s recording bc the screen is hard to see in sunlight. It seems like this has way better battery life and the screen would be larger and easier to see outside? I also have no idea about lens (never used external one). Could I just go with stock Sony lens?

I've watched your video where you compare the Canon M50 mark II and then Sony A6400, and the other video comparing the ZV-E10 and the A6400. I really liked you video, throrough review. I'm planning to buy one of those options (A6400 │ ZV-E10 │ ZV-1 │Canon M50 Mark II), but I'm more inclined for the A6400 and ZV-E10, specially for videos (70%) and photos (30%), I found four cameras with a very similar price (A6400 │ ZV-E10 │ ZV-1 │Canon M50 Mark II) and the three sony cameras at the same price. In your experience, which one you think would be better or a better options to buy for videos and photos? Thank you so much in advance.

I’m interested in buying this camera for my classroom because of the mic input and headphone jack output. However, my major concern is overheating while using a battery bank to power the camera and record long form content. For example, high school stage performances like dance shows, plays, assemblies, graduations, sports, etc. Can this camera be charged and recording for over 1.5 hours without overheating? Thanks!

Thank you for this! Do you know if I could use a usb mic like the AT2020+ with the Sony ZV-E10? The AT2020+ has a USB type B output, but with an adapter it could go into the camera... just not sure if it would power the condenser mic? Does the battery provide phantom power thru the onboard usb slot?
