@mbvglider3 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDrummondPhoto I don't buy that an old processor can't handle more touchscreen controls. The Olympus E-PM2 was released in 2013, and that could easily select settings using a touchscreen. It couldn't change them, but you could hit settings with your fingers and then use the dial, which is actually more than you can do with many Sony cameras released in the last couple years. Meanwhile, budget-friendly, last-gen Canon cameras like the RP and M5 have wonderful touchscreen controls. It's just Sony who just keeps making cameras where the specs are good, but the user experience to get them is so mediocre.

Great review! I think you bring out a lot of great points with regards to how this specific camera is designed to do a little bit more if you're not really looking or wanting to do a vlog style setting. In fact it's perfect for someone that's going to do a lot more talking head videos on this camera because it's going to allow you to have a wider shot with that 16 to 50 lens. Plus if you put a sigma 16 1.4 aperture on it you should be able to get a much more bokeh better situation. And I noticed that you didn't really talk about the product showcase or any of those other features which quite frankly for a talking headseting this is probably going to be the best camera that Sony has sold in this entry level lineup. I own the zv1 and I think it's great for what I do but the zv-e10 is a camera that I'm looking for specifically to do talking headshots and simply putting it on a tripod. I plan to use my zv1 as a top-down shot. At any rate this was a great review thank you for the great video.

Doesn't low shutter speed (1/50 etc.) defeat the purpose of using active electronic stabilization? It works the best at higher shutter speeds, since every frame is sharp, and it's easier for the software to effectively stabilize the footage. It won't un-sharp moved frames. It looks terrible with ND filter. Motion blur to compansate lack of 180-rule could be added in post.

In my opinion, rolling shutter account for only 2-3% of what I normally experience with my type of videos. (I shoot skateboarders going pretty fast so you would think rolling shutter is an issue) Not a big deal for me. Now what I was hoping you would go over is their updated color science vs the old 6000 series. Maybe a comparison between the others? I just sold my a6300 which I paid $1000+ when it came out and it was my workhorse. I purchased the zve10 so I can see if this cheaper option would be better than what I’m already used to on the a6300. I also use the Sony a7sii as my main. Hopefully this will be a better b cam.

All the review vloggers doing that massive quick pan to get the rolling shutter effect is ridiculous. You watch their content and 90% is a set shot (most shooting the bulk of their reviews on $4k+ systems, but telling how bad something is) and rarely if every would they even have a 2-3% situation where it might effect the image. If you are doing racing, some kinds of very fast sports and such, might be a deal breaker, but even there it is a small percentage of content creators that would need to evaluate it. Most who shoot fast motion do so with a small GoPro or other action camera anyway. As it is though, the EV10 is a solid all around camera for most and a nice entry camera at the price.

@@JohannesDalenMC my bad I just reread your question. I’m not exactly too sure if it has to do with the camera moving fast or just whipping fast during a pan. From what I’ve seen on my footage it’s when it’s moving at a faster speed than normal. You’ll see the straight lines look like jello which a lot of people dislike. I’m sort of in between, don’t really hate it, but done love it either.

I would get the Sony, check cameradecision for spec comparison, maybe find a video comparison

Thank you! I’ve been trying to find a review which mentioned the positioning of the battery/SD card door, as my biggest annoyance with my current camera is that I can’t change the card without taking it off the tripod.

Thank you so much for this review. Can you please clarify - can this camera livestream and record to the card memory (or computer?) at the same time? Thanks again

🔴 *I BOUGHT ZV1 IT LAST YEAR AS SOON AS IT HIT THE MARKET - VERY BAD STABILIZATION, WEAK BATTERY, THERE IS NO TOUCHSCREEN, BECAUSE IT BLURS THE BACKGROUND, ZV1 IS NOT FOR TRAVEL VLOG. WHAT IS THE SITUATION WITH ZV E10? GOPRO 9 IS BEST FOR MY TRAVEL VLOG* 👍 💪

Thanks for the info! I have heard that this camera can be used as a webcam without any additional software, all you have to do is plug in with a USB-C cable. Do you know if this camera (or any camera for that matter) can be connected to a smartphone to do live streaming on Instagram? I have an Android Google Pixel 3

The only thing I don't like about the example footage is the rolling shutter. After getting the fx3 and zv1 you can really notice how bad the rolling shutter is on the a6000 line. Honestly because of the rolling shutter I would probably go with the zv1 for vlogging and documenting the things I do

Let me choose one between A6400 and ZVE-10 especially for photography ... I'm literally too much confused .. 😕

Nice video as always Gerald! Quick question: does it record gyro data and allow you to stabilize it in post?

Yes!

The rolling shutter is hideous sadly. Got an A6600 and that thing stays on a tripod all the time when I'm using it. It's my C-Cam alongside my FX3 and A7iii so it pretty much would anyway, but it's pretty rough to see because you know vloggers are gonna be jelloing it all up.

Yep that's Canada, where 6 months are winter and the other 6 are construction season 😀

I have a couple of questions that aren't related to this video, but I don't know how else to ask... I shoot on the Canon R5. Is the 1080p on that camera downsampled from 4K, like the 4K is from 8K? And why can't we shoot RAW in 4K or 4K HQ, or 1080 for that matter? Thank you.
