Sony ZV E10 Vlogging Camera; A Budget a6600 at Half The Price!

Dude! You are super articulate, paced, and informative. Your presentation reigns supreme...something lacking in many KZbinrs. I just bought the ZV. Question: which would you recommend for monitoring the shot? Should I plug in the micro HDMI or use the smartphone app you mentioned? As I'm a bit far from the camera, the viewfinder can be a bit tiny for monitoring my video shoots. Thanks. I appreciate you.

I sometimes switch back and fourth between those. I usually have a laptop right in front of me so I sometimes run an hdmi straight back to it through a camlink4k. I also have a TV on a rolling stand that sometimes I’ll set up next to the camera, but that’s really hard to not look at while filming and that looks odd. Other times just the Sony app to see it on my phone. Try them out I guess; you’ll certainly realize you like one method over the other

just got one - loving it for zoom calls. Great review - you're the first one I saw that mentioned the HDMI port can output 8-bit 422. It still 8-bit but at least a slight improvement...

@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE If you are looking for simplicity makes a 1 cable web cam. USBC powers camera indefinitely, transmits video and audio too. Quality is not as good as using a Camlink but it beats those built-in cams and all the budget ones for sure.

Yeah, now I’m considering hanging on to it as a C camera- even if that just gives me a bunch of extra editing work having THREE angles on a shot!! Ooo, maybe I’ll rig it up as a permanent top down camera over my desk for demonstrations..

Can a viltrox speed booster be put on it to help the crop? Is the kit lens a ef lens?

I wouldnt suggest using the kit lens. Although, a speed booster WILL improve both the crop and the bokeh - so depending on the multiplier, it might work. I think thats something that needs a specific test though, this is an electronic zoom lens, like the camera can move the zoom ring, and Im not sure all that could be communicated through the speed booster.

Ive never used the 6400, but I would prefer the a6600 to the zve10 because it has ibis and a bigger battery.

Thats a good video idea! Its a little tough with that kit lens just because its widest aperture is f/3.5 but thats only at 16mm, you'd have to have it closer to 50mm but THEN the aperture is at 5.6 which would mean you'd need a good 15-20 feet between you and the wall behind you in order to get the effect.

Which one you refer for vlogging zv1 or zv e10 since e10 have problem in rolling shutter

Well the ZV-1 has ALMOST no rolling shutter at all, so I guess if your Vlogs have a lot of fast panning movement, I would suggest that one. Especially if switching lenses isnt important to you, thats a great camera! But the sensor on it is small, and so you won't be able to get the same amount of Bokeh as you'll get on the E10 - so unfortunately there are tradeoffs for both
