@@falkimusicon I guess it depends on the sort of music video but it does tick some boxes that I think might be relevant. It’s light, easy to carry and unobtrusive which would be helpful in a live music venue. It’s good in low light although other, more expensive cameras are better. But ultimately, for me is the price. It can produce “professional” quality results at an affordable price.

I haven't been able to get my ZV-E10 to give me the 120p shooting option yet since I am in the US and we use NTSC, PAL isn't a good option. Trying to figure getting that shooting setting still. I've seen you can do it in the 4k slo-mo, but I was hoping it would be in the normal shooting settings so I don't always have to do as slo-mo and control that in post. Not sure what I have missed in getting that working on mine. This is also my first Sony, so getting through the menus for set up has been a big learning curve.***** update... the option finally appeared under my settings today. Not sure what changed but now have the 120 option for shooting video.***

Lovely video! (A bit different, eh!) I bought a ZV-E10 (body only) to go as a partner to my Sony A7iii…. I don’t shoot many (or even any!) videos…. just stills photography. I thought the ZV-E10 might enable me to avoid buying a very long-reach telephoto for the occasional wildlife photography I do (by using a Canon 70-200mm plus the Sigma MC-11 adapter). But the result was a kind of Frankenstein piece of kit…. difficult to hold and use. So I’m sending the ZV-E10 back today. It’s a sweet little camera… but, given the state of my finances and the nation’s finances, I can’t really justify keeping it. (I wish I could!). However, I loved your video! Very direct, very efficient, very mindful of the viewer who is time-poor. And what an interesting accent you have! Irish + ? + ? H’mmmm!! 😊😊😊

Lower the mic volume in the camera for a start. All mics are different so hard to say what else but definitely lower the mic and you can always do some noise reduction in post.

I just got this camera, can you explain more about frame rates, what they actually mean and how to select the appropriate frame rates for the type of content I want to create? I want to do slow motion but I just don’t get it

For slow motion you can use the S&Q mide. The higher the frame rate like 120 the more slower it’ll be. S&Q mode doesn’t record audio so if you want audio just select 1080 in the resolution and 120p (or 100p) as your frame rate. You can then slow it down in post (24p timeline allows you to slow it down to 20%)

Great info, Vic! Can you or anybody answer this?: I got 2 of these ZV-E10 cams for seminar documenting. I tested them in my studio (typical room temp) by running them on internal batteries for a few continuous hours @ 4K until finally one shut down from overheating. I found the HIGH setting for overheating, set it and the problem did NOT return again after multi-hour testing. THEN I got to the seminar. Similar ambient temp, but this time I used dummy batteries and external power packs. They both overheated within 45 minutes! It's got to be the dummy battery/power packs that did it...Right??? Does this combo create more heat due to a much more powerful battery? I thought there is built in voltage or resistance settings for the cameras and assumed the power source would not be a factor. THANKS TO ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP KEEP THESE BABIES RUNNING FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT OVERHEATING...without plugging into a wall for AC.

Hey Larry, it can depend on a lot of factors. Dummy batteries can be hit and miss and have the potential to fry the camera itself, depending on the voltage that's going in. It should be no more than 5V. So the power source can absolutely be an issue.

Nice video. But here's my "extra advice": don't format your SD Card using the ZV-E10. The preferences are stored on the memory card, meaning that everytime you format it... it's gone. Just take your SD card and delete the pictures/videos you don't need anymore by using your computer.

Hey Scott, absolutely. It’s a great camera but check out my other vids on the stabilization issue. It’s not a huge deal breaker depending on what you’re doing but it’s definitely something to consider. Otherwise this is a superb camera with incredible auto focus and the video quality is insane

@@VicBarry thank you Vic 🙂 It will mostly be used on a tripod for recording my music videos (me and guitar type of thing). I'd love to use it for Outside nature shots, walking etc but the stabilisation is a bit of a worry. I'll check out your other videos on the matter. Thanks again 🙂

@@VicBarry I have just watched your gopro v gimbal video. I loved it and was exactly what I wanted/needed to see! Due to budget, I'd like to have a camera that does everything I need/want. I want to get those cinematic shots, the angles, movements etc, but also use on a tripod to record me playing. Current thoughts are, get the sony zve10, a gimbal eventually (maybe the one in your video), and also a lense, which brings me to the next question. What type of lense would you recommend for me plonked on a stool playing a guitar? Eventually. An additional lense may be bought but for the 1st one, that's the main use. Thanks again. @@VicBarry Hey Vic, so this is all kind of big and scary to me at the moment. I am trying to be a grown up and understand how to photo & video properly, hence buying the ZV-E10 with a view to be able to grow with it. However, I want to start shooting content now and the menu has so many dam options I don't know where to start. I want to share my passions on youtube and I have literally just days ago created a channel. Anything you can do with you clear and easy to follow style to help me and other complete newbies who want to go outside with there camera and shoot a bit of vlog and a bit of b-roll and mix in some extra voice over would be fanstastic :)

Hey Rob, there’s a good few videos on the channel that showcase this. Mainly on the zv-1. But the setup is the exact same. In a nutshell put the camera in aperture priority and dial it to 1.8. Put the ISO in auto. And go for it 🙏

Hi i like your videos and could you please tell me some info for zve-10. I normally shoot indoor and at night time. So need to know the best setting for making videos in 4K and HD in terms what frame rate shall I choose. And on my camera top right corner, it shows 29 or 25 mins - does that means the memory card space? waiting for your quick reply. thanks
