The finger print system isn't better than iPhone, it's better than Samsung's finger print system. I just purchased the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for $499 (16 GB) compared to the price of the Note 4 ($865) this was a no brainer. The quad HD screen is better and of course if you're an S-pen person the Note 4 is a better option. I had the Note 3, didn't like it and didn't really use the S-pen, and touchwiz is the worst UI out there, plus Samsung locks the bootloader. I'm just over Samsung, not giving them anymore of my money.

The 2K screen isn't the holy grail, firstly it hogs a lot of battery and secondly most videos aren't displayed at higher than 1080p right now and most things you look at on a phone aren't even displayed in 2K so it's somewhat of a waste. Video games will look better yes. Other than that once you factor in the price $499 vs $850 the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is the better option for most people but like you said people just go with popular brands and do no research. The UI on the Mate 7 beats touchwiz by a mile and 1080 p is full HD resolution and the battery (4050 mh) is bigger with a lower resolution screen so it lasts much longer than the Note 4 which has a smaller battery 3100 mh) and has to power a higher resolution screen. People need to wake up.

True true. The Asus Zenfone shows so much promise. They have so better specs (Phone Specs made from Intel, which make proccesors for PCs, so they know their thing) and at such an affordable price. $199 for 2 gigs of RAM, Intwl proccessor, 1080p, and more!

I see that the note 4 is simply superior and a true phablet with a lot of features that would be unreachable for a normal smartphone thanks to S pen, and I would totally go for it it I was looking for a phablet and could spend that much money on a phone. In the other hand, from the point of view of most people, we see phablets just as oversized smartphones and would hardly ever use the S pen; in that case, I really would pick the Mate 7, it is a better looking phone (even I being not big fan of metal) with a larger display in almost the same footprint, it last longer, and it is a nice all rounder covering every department (camera, software performance, radio signals, etc.) very nicely with a more reazonable price (I am not saying that the Note 4 is overpriced, it worht its price, but it is expensive). However, the Nexus 6 changes all perspective for the Ascend mate 7 and pretty much every oversized smartphone ("phablet") out there and, me being a big fan of Motorola since the original razr, I think it will be wiser to wait until Jan or Feb to see how well this three devices evolve before jumping into big screens.

I have the Note 4... Charcoal black.. Its lovely.. the Faux Leather... so nice to hold in the hand, and the metal sides, it feels so premium. Its better then holding a metal rectangle. (cough cough *iphone 6+ and Ascend mate 7*)

Oh my gosh! Both of these devices sh!t on the new iPhones (6 and 6 plus). Both just look way better than the 6 plus and of course, they're both Android devices. Specs wise the Note 4 has everything but the Mate 7 is budget friendly and I should say the best of its class. The best Full HD phone in the market. The Kirin 925 is something to look forward to. :)

Thanks for the comment שרגיא טורה. In theory, you're right - a tap is preferential to a press. Unfortunately in reality, it isn't. The main reason is that over time, it 'forgets' your finger as it gets used and dirtier, requiring a recalibration every couple of weeks and more cleaning then that of the iPhone. Touch ID gets it right a greater percentage of attempts. It is, still the best Android finger print scanner on offer.

Btekt interesting. can it be because touch id are placed in the home button and are more frequently used, and therefore The sensor/button stays more clean? And, is it enough to wipe with something to clean the sensor of mate 7 to make it read your fingerprints? or can it be because the sensor reed more accurately and our fingerprints are dirty or change some overtime? if so, maybe the sensor on mate 7 is safer? It would be very interesting if any hacker group tried to "hack" the M7 fingerprint sensor!

+Joshua Fernandes The S Pen on the Note series, doubles as a mouse & has hover features, as well as more precise screenshot editing features. It would be nice if more of the larger screens, (5.7, 6.1, etc...), came w/a stylus of some sort. It wouldn't have to be as high-tech as the S Pen, but something narrower & more precise than your finger, since they do have note taking & screenshot editing abilities as well.

I think it would be better if Samsung sticks with 1080p screen and just improve the brightness. It would really makes the battery life better. Although the battery life is already good, it would make more sense if they focus more on battery rather than on pixel density race.

there is actually a reason to go so hard on resolution: while IPS displays have 3 subpixels for every pixel, AMOLED displays does not. This means that one AMOLED display actually needs a larger resolution to pair with an IPS display sharpness. Still, it is more a selling point than a true advantage for the user.

John D. Court Don't care to be honest. As I said, it is more a selling point than anything else and I am happy that qHD exist so I can get a better deal for the already excelent 1080p. Indeed Note4 is sharper than G2, however you must have mutant eyes to see "MUCH" difference between a full HD and a qHD...or maybe the MUCH better contrast of the OLED technology is what you perceive and mistake it as sharpness.

The fingerprint of all galaxy are very bad and need to try 2x all the time to get it working... This kind of bad image from Samsung makes me going to all other brands after 6 years with them ... The mate 7 looks great but impossible to find all silicon protection cases in a shop here in Switzerland. I will never buy a smartphone without a protection bumper... Never (they are too fragile).
