Actually, performing surgery and having music play is very common. Typically it's classical music. Imo that music is distracting

Hello! A high school classmate of mine studied to be an orthopedic surgeon. His wife told me he does surgery with rock music playing in the background. I thought that was a hoot! Back in school, he was always the class clown since 6th grade! So I'm not surprised! 😂😅

So arrogant and selfish of Dr. Han to insist on the music in the OR, not to mention dangerous when it distracts the others. Of course, this was to make him the villain/a**hole, which the actor plays well.

It very common for leading surgeon to put music as in many cases anaesthesia is given on the operating part so patient are usually awake so it helps in distraction
