I want to see an EXTREMELY medically accurate tv show where a patient has some weird symptoms that all together point to some rare disease, and our main character just looks them in the eyes and says “Oh, you should just lose some weight” and then concludes the appointment.

When I found out I was pregnant with twins it was the scariest day of my life. I was 8 months pregnant and kept feeling like I was peeing my pants. Turns out the bigger twins water broke, so I was carted away for a C-section. I barely had time for my husband to get to the hospital. Most terrifying experience of my life. They are both healthy and happy now.

I'm a twin, my mom gave birth 2 months earlier than she should have. There were some complications and the doctor made her choose, save herself or either me or my twin, and she said if there's a sliver of a chance for the 3 of us all to live then the doctors should do their best and she'll give her best to hold on. We're all alive & healthy 24 years now :) bless all OBGYNs who fight for their patients even when the all odds are against them.

When dealing with an incredibly high risk pregnancy one of the most comforting things a doctor did in a consult was to ask us if we had named her and then called her by her name. Yes we had named her. I didn't want her to die without a name and wanted medical providers to see her as a person already loved with a family who desperately wanted her.

I have a friend whose mother had a dream while pregnant that she had two eggs in a nest, and a snake ate one of them. I don't know if she knew yet that she was carrying twins. When my friend was born, her twin was stillborn. Sure, it's possible that this was just a coincidence, but I also know that our bodies can know things that we don't. I don't know whether it's medically possible for this to have been more than a crazy coincidence, but it seems likely to me that part of her somehow knew what was happening. Human bodies do weirder things on a regular basis.

I'm a logical person, but exactly for be logical I can't just ignore dreams prediction as they are too much correct in my family. My parents choose to not know the sex both for me and my sister. But my mother dreamed beforehand. In the dream she find out a lot about us, like that my sister was a female with long legs and that I was very hairy with round checks. She often coments that while see my sister genitals was very easy, I seemed to be hiding mine so she couldn't guess my gender. Turns out I'm non binary 🤣 🤣
@seraphina985
@seraphina985 Жыл бұрын
This one really doesn't seem like it even needs some, it does not seem implausible that some chemical changes could have affected the mother and produced symptoms of unease or anxiety. That could absolutely trigger disturbing dreams and it hardly seems unusual these could linger on themes related to the pregnancy. As for the seemingly specific nature of that particular one it must be borne in mind that confirmation bias is a very real phenomenon in humans and we thus tend to place undue weight on something like a dream that seems to become relevant later and disregard the ones that turned out to be complete nonsense entirely unconsciously without even being away of it.

My mom has a bicornuate uterus! One side of her uterus was also toxic, so she had all 4 of her kids on one side. Her back was really messed up after that, and eventually one of her legs went numb and she had to have back surgery. They said her spine looked like she barely survived a car crash. The lack of a drape really bothered me. My sister had to have an emergency C-section due to her liver failing from preeclampsia and they flew her out to the other hospital on a helicopter but they still had the time to give her a drape before they cut her open. She also said the C-section itself was super fast, and even though she was awake for it at most she just felt some tugging. Then again her baby was literally 2lbs at birth and looked like a little purple potato. So not a lot of baby to dig out since he was so little. That lady must not have gotten prenatal care because the doctors helping my sister with her pregnancy were always doing tests and scans and I even remember the RH factor being discussed. Mostly because it's so wild to have an entire different human with a separate blood type and everything just inside you.

I had a situation where it was my life or my baby’s life. Antibodies were through the roof, My heart failed at 17 weeks and I had vasa previa. I kept hearing that I should terminate because my medical team believed my heart failure would reverse without her. I refused and told them that unless I was truly dying, I would fight for her. We held out until 28 weeks for a c-section to find the sweet spot where we would both have the best chance of survival. my baby girl will be turning 2 next week. She is perfect for being less than a pound at birth. My heart continued to decline for a year afterwards and my team confirmed it would have happened with or without her due to an autoimmune issue they discovered via biopsy. I now have a heart pump and am working to get on the transplant list. While a lot of this episode is insanely far fetched, it does hit home with how crazy a pregnancy can get so quickly. It’s possible that getting pregnant saved my life because now we know that I have a disease attacking several of my organs. We are both still alive because I refused to listen to my doctor’s extreme suggestion of termination.

This episode had me in floods of tears. My identical twins were monoamniotic/monochorionic. It was such a terrifying pregnancy, and we knew that IF they survived that long, they had to be delivered at 32 weeks. It still feels as if that pregnancy was yesterday, but my twins are 7 years old now. The severe anxiety every time I went into London for scans, every time I was put on a CTG when I was inpatient. My twins and I are all autistic and whilst I’m certainly no genius, I can relate a little to some of Sean’s character. I think this episode was the perfect storm that made me break down. Love seeing your content on here. I’d love it if you could bring some awareness to momo/MCMA twins too, maybe with heather again or mama doctor Jones? It was emotionally exhausting having to explain the risks to everyone who kept saying I was lucky to be pregnant with twins, when I was terrified every moment. I’d love for people to understand it more. I hope you manage to read this as it was actually hard to type.

I would suggest *Descendents Of The Sun* for Real Doctor Reacts. A korean, medical drama surrounding the consequences of a natural disaster. It's a huge success nationally and internationally. The the pinnacle of the drama is when the main lead doctor has to make a decision between saving the live of one person at the cost of the other. It also talks about the stigma around "A real doctor" and "a doctor who appears on tv" which I think will be something you could relate to. It also includes many struggles which doctors have to face. It's a great drama and I would be happy if you could react to it.

This was really good! Very informative! The juxtaposition of the casual mention of abortion with the later discussion about "society" not being about survival of the fittest, but the strong having the responsibility to protect the weak, and then the passionate attempt by both doctors and the mom to "save" both fetuses was really interesting to me. As a society, we have really confused, sometimes diametrically opposed ideas when it comes to fetuses and whether they are human or worth protecting.

What amuses me is that doctors at this hospital are all superstar surgeons. They are specialists in ALL kinds of surgeries. They don't even have a cardiothoracic surgeon anymore after Melendez died so everyone else just does it now. At 8:40, you have Shaun, a general surgeon, Andrews, a plastics surgeon, and Resnick, an internal medicine doctor. No OB-GYN in sight.

Dr Irobunda was amazing! I wish I could have her as my OB/GYN. My Primary care physician retired last year and haven’t been able to find someone who actually wants to talk to their patients so would also love to see Dr Mike too. You guys seem just so caring

Love seeing how far medicine has come. My twin and I had TTT transfusion 30 years ago before they could really fix it like this. We were both born early around 26 weeks weighing 1 lb.

I’d love to see you and Devin (legaleagle) check out the House episode, Words and Deeds. It’s got court scenes and hospital scenes. It’s the perfect thing for you two to collaborate on.

Mike: “16 gauge... that’s thick.” My brain: don’t, don’t don’t. Me: THATS WHAT SHE SAID. 🤣😂

The punching motion they both did when talking about fixing an inverted uterus is absolutely horrifying

That is how it’s done though! Been there.... but the cause of needing that fist push is also excruciating....
