Knowing the true character of George, he did NOT care about the welfare and comfort of the security guard. George wanted to prove that he could make someone else’s employment experience more lazier and worthless than any jobs he tried to hold. Case in point, the episode of having the carpenter build him a sleeping nest under his desk! LOL

I disagree. This is an example of how even when George tries to be genuinely helpful (which he does by abusing his "authority" as the person who may someday marry the owner's niece) it turns out to be a bad idea with terrible consequences. George isn't evil, he's just inept and has bad judgement.

I genuinely believed George cared about the injustice of having to stand all day. It came from a place of frustration and anger, not compassion and empathy. George himself is often treated unjustly by society - 'we live in a society!' I really believe that this was an outlet of his frustration.
