Even in a lopsided defeat you can see just how special Vince Young was

Vince was garbage. That's why he didn't go far after his college career.

OU’s defense between 2000-2003 was something SERIOUS!! Mark Clayton in one word: BEAST

Now that Brent venables is your coach OU might actually have a proper defense matching the good recruiting.

I remember watching this as a kid. That was some of the best defense from OU I had ever seen. Don't see that too much anymore.

Its sickening that 2002-2004 didn't produce a national title. The 2002 team was really good too but the slip up at A&M early in the season ultimately locked them out of playing for the title. 2002 & 2003, I think every defensive player went to the NFL

One of the greatest OU defenses ever. Went to three games that year.

77-0 win over atm the following year was even funnier when the mercy rule was invoked and they ran the clock during timeouts the entire 2nd half... bizarre.. never have seen that at any level of football in 40 years

Like I said, freshman. Turning over the ball is part of the game when you're inexperienced. Still doesn't take away from the fact that a freshman non-starting QB lit up the National Championship-bound Sooners for 145 yards rushing (!) w/TD, and 133 yards passing. Doesn't sound too dominating to me....
@matthurt78056 жыл бұрын
Daaaaaaam!!Sooners are soo fukin fun and exciting to watch play the game.
@boomer199115 жыл бұрын
Actually, in 2000 when we won the BCS national championship, was the year we had the lowest percentage of texans on our roster, which was less than 20%. We had more Oklahomans that year, than any other year in recent history. Also, 4 out of our 5 Heisman winners were Oklahomans. UT fans must also realize that most of their national championships were won by an Oklahoman, Sooner born and Sooner bred Darrell Royal. They even have their stadium named after him. BOOMER SOONER!!
@Dedmon31912 жыл бұрын
Yes. I call someone that turns the ball over constantly getting shut down.
@gregpasq12 жыл бұрын
Well, I wouldn't go that far...lol. I just think for a freshman QB Young played a decent game against formidable competition. I definitely showed glimpses of his future college potential.

Not sugarcoating a loss. A loss is a loss. My comment was about a freshman QB who wasn't even a starter "being shutdown"....which obviously didn't happen.
