Puri & Sue, I have been eating Soon Kee Beef Noodles 60 yrs ago when I was a little kid with my parents. We are from Kuantan and whenever my Dad comes over for meetings, it a must we have a meal in Soon Kee. Those early days they operated from the back street. Then they next rented only 1/2 of the top floor. Later I guess they bought over the property and started their business at the ground floor till today. Recall those days my Dad is able to park at the side or the front of the shop. Nowadays I need not have to go down to KL for a fix, I can either pop over at their SEA Park or Kota Damansara outlets. My standard order is medium & dry version and with a bowl of tripes & beef meat & beef balls. A very satisfying meal. Still my best beef noodles in town.

Those are some noodle cooking skills. I feel your pain when it comes to parking. That can happen around here too. Oh, I see food and footprints! Love firm noodles like those. Do you guys always finish the broth or just focus on eating the noodles and the meat? Whoa, we would have Puri's!!!! Love that saucy meat on top.
@PuriandSue4 жыл бұрын
I (Puri) would usually finish up the soup haha. Especially if it's tasty like this bowl. Yea, the city is so dense and parking is always an issue here. Glad we took public transport for this 😄👍

This is the first time we saw beef noodle with tauchu sauce! 😍 We love tauchu (we call it tauco in Indonesia)! We maybe prefer the dry noodle more! The noodle looks amazing and chewy, our favourite type of noodle 😍
@PuriandSue4 жыл бұрын
It's a spectacular comfort food. The dried noodles does have a richer sauce and can definitely taste that tauchu for sure

Peter and Yen For innards, probably the heart. Those Peruvian beef hearts (anticuchos) are phenomenal!

Haha I'm (Puri) the innards guy. Sue usually gives me her share of it. My favourite would be tripe, especially if it's skewered on a satay stick

To be honest the word jelak never really use in Malaysia, i think Singaporean use it. The word my Malay friends use is 'muak'.
@PuriandSue4 жыл бұрын
We both grew up with 'jelak'. Our friends, family and neighbors use it all the time.
