honestly, i don't think your spending is that bad or out of control. most of the stuff you spent money is reasonable and can't be avoided, like paying for placement-related travel, and we all have to eat. i'm also a grad student who didn't grow up well-off, so i def feel you on the guilt you feel when you spend money. i think as long as you genuinely enjoy something, like bubble tea, and you feel like it's worth it, it's fine to consume it within moderation. for me, i hate bubble tea (def a hot take, i know lol) so i get annoyed when friends asked to meet up pre-panoroma with the explicit purpose of getting bubble tea, bc for me, that's not worth it.

Maybe it’s a tips for you to save a little bit money, bind your 16-25 Railcard and Oyster Card could have a 1/3 discount, when you use public transport during the off-peak period. And Daily caps is also £7.2 Also, bubble tea is also an essential thing like salt for me, lol😂(there’s myself recipe, if you want, you can cook it your self, just put a black tea ball in 300-400ml whole milk and heat it 1minute in microwave, than add sugar.)

this is me how I spend on daily basis. I also felt guilty having take out but you know what, its fine! it's for survival, we need food to live. I observed your spending is mostly transportation, meal and food shopping. those are necessity 🤷🏻‍♀️ I find it wasteful if I shop for clothes, and other misc stuff. but of course having take out in moderation 😊

it might be worth putting money into savings at the beginning of the month (or whenever payday is) , so that you know you have enough money to both save and spend it on whatever you want! I don't think you're wasting money, I think it's part London being insanely expensive, and part having your own money after years of not having any that makes spending so much money so easy

I also didn't want other people watching to think it's normal for the average student - if you can spend this much and it makes you happy then I'm glad, go for it, you're definitely working hard enough to justify treating yourself... but most students don't have a lucrative youtube channel to fund this
