Loved this episode! My dad is a police officer for the city of Miami. Every year, the Miami Police officers and first responders complete bicycle rides from Miami to Key West and Orlando to raise money for the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation. Last year, due to the pandemic, the ride was cancelled. However, my dad alone committed to ride 1,000 miles in the month of September to bring awareness to childhood cancer and collect donations. This year in 2021, my dad gathered a group of officers to commit to a ride from Miami to Naples on their police bikes (not cycling bikes) to ride 111 miles and raise money for the Police Officers Assistance Trust (POAT). This is not an easy task! I'm so glad to hear about your cyclist on your show. Feel free to reach out if you want to hear more of the story and have him on the show! My dad truly is a hero.
