I saw the mbira thing they did on google and looked that up. This was recommended to me and i just decided to pop in. Wherever you’re coming from though, I hope you find the peace you need. You can do this, and if anything doesn’t go your way, remember: The future is not written in stone and whatever path you think you’ll take might not work out, but every step you take, even if its a mistake, is a step forward and therefore, in the right direction. You’re bound to feel confused and hurt sometimes, but you’ll never have all the answers, and if there’s anything I’ve learned it’s that sometimes we do know the answer, we just don’t realize it or we aren’t mature enough to understand it’s importance. You’re entitled to your mistakes and you need to forgive and love yourself before you can be a positive influence in the world.

Its fun to watch the fingers of pianists, violinists etc. see the instrument. At the same time, B Roll is what helps keep the attention. That's wonderful! That's exactly why I arranged it this way. Repetitive, few chords, few changes. That way the brain doesn't have to concentrate on what might be next in the music. It can relax because the song is playing the same thing over and over. I'm happy to help! And best to you on your studies!

I am just curious about the sound - I was wondering how you recorded this and if you used any after effects (reverb/sustain) in the editing process for this video? I can see it's not plugged in but I thought maybe it's closemic'd or in a very resonant room or something similar. Or is this just the sound of the instrument?

Hi James, Awesome you are considering getting an Array Mbira! For this particular Array, which is a solid body model, I record into a ZoomQ8. I also run it through a DI Box. There are 2 High Quality Peizo Pickups. For almost all my recordings I record directly into the Zoom. You can run the sound through an amp also if you have a very nice sound proof room. I have figured out the best settings for the Zoom when I record. The instument is a Bass Beast for sure. So there is a little bit of adjustment in the editing. It's not needed but my sound guy does like to adjust a bit. When I film, as in this video, I'm playing with the audio. So it's for the footage. I sometimes do play from my amp but my fav choice is the Zoom for a quality recording. Now with the Acoustic Array, the sound is so wonderful. Even without an amp! It also resonates incredibly. Which type were you considering? They also have developed a Semi hollow model but I haven't played one of those.
