I have a cousin that grew up and lived in the city all his life. He came to the family reunion for the first time in the country. At night when the crickets and frogs started making sound he asked, "What's that?" I asked him, "What's what?" He said, "That noise." I then realized that he had never heard these night sounds ever.

I'm glad he got to hear the sounds of the night for himself, it would have been sad if he never heard them. I grew up on this small tropical island and I always found comfort listening to the bugs at night. Now that I live in the city I miss those sounds, but I always get to visit my grandma out in the countryside so it's not so bad.

I just moved to Nebraska a year and a half ago for a job and the one thing that I really miss about Pennsylvania is exactly these sounds. This video sounds EXACTLY like I'm back in PA. I went to school there.....I used to live in Bellevue which is by Omaha, there are some good camp sites outside of Omaha in southeastern Nebraska and up in northwestern Nebraska closer to the black hills of South Dakota. Not gonna find a real forest or anything but most campsites are surrounded by trees which come with the wildlife

Something cool is that there is An educational great horned owl who was hit by a car near Halsey back around 1998. His name is Halsey and he is a great educational bird. Yeah it absolutely sucks that he was hit by the car. Anyway, it’s not the forests you’re going to find back east, but it is a forest. Good luck
