I remembered watching the Sooty and Co on ITV back in the 90's when I was very young. I really do enjoying watching the show and I do wished the whole series is finally released onto complete DVD collection at last.

Sooty and Soo can be horrible bullies to Sweep at times, they start it and then luckily hes feisty and gets his own back on them. Hes picked on as hes sweet, cute and an eccentric genius crossed with an incapacity for everyday practicalities. I hated him getting hit with the pan and hammer, I was desperate to collar the yellow mute and wollop him with a giant hammer! Served them right that they got the flea treatment back. Theres an edge of malice in the show towards Sweep, and I must admit it was difficult to watch.

There are definitely episodes that push the bullying of Sweep too far, particularly Soo can be very nasty to him, and it doesn't help that Matthew always seems to take her side and treat her as 'dear little Soo' when she's so arrogant and spoiled! Always love that Sweep stands his ground and gets his own back though, he is the true star of the show!
